There is no way you can't be impressed with the Vikings going into New Orleans and stunning the Saints behind solid play from Kirk Cousins, a devastating rushing attack led by Dalvin Cook, and a defense that made life hell for future Hall of Famer Drew Brees.
That's the good news, the bad news is that the Niners are a whole other type of beast. Not only can San Fran run the ball as good as the Vikes, if not better, but they simply don't make many, if any big mistakes.
They are easily one of the most balanced teams in the league and Minny is going to have to go from NOLA to the West Coast in less than 7 days which is a lotttt of travel, which can be wary on a team.
This game is going to come down to whether Minnesota can establish their run game and slow the Niners down enough to keep this thing close.
Add in the top level play of Jimmy G for much of this year and his big play ability with WRs like Deebo Samuel and Emmanuel Sanders and lock down TE George Kittle, this game could get out of hand early if the Vikes don't keep contact like they did against the Saints.
I see the Vikes keeping this close in the first half, but after halftime it will be too much. Jimmy G and that Niners running game that will lean and lean on Minny and finally bull them over in huge moments.
Look for the San Fran D, that has been beautifully coordinated by future head coach Robert Saleh, to cause a massively huge turnover or two that will be a lights out moment for Minny in this one. Lay the 7 and buy it down to 6.5 just to be safe from a key number, but I project this game to end in a double digit win for San Fran.
