The Red Devils have been in great form since returning to play. They’re undefeated (3-1-0) and they have outscored opponents 12-3 in those matches. They’re on a three-match winning streak.
Seven goals shared | Manchester United 5 - 2 AFC Bournemouth
United are only two points behind Chelsea for fourth and just three points behind Leicester for third on the EPL table. I’d be shocked if they didn’t defeat Villa, but I’m not betting them at –315 odds.
Villa have gone winless (0-2-3) since the English Premier League returned. They’ve only been able to score two goals in those five matches. They’re currently 18th on the table and facing relegation.
Aston Villa vs. Manchester United Head-to-Head Trends
These two teams haven’t played each other a lot recently. They played once this season in January at Old Trafford and the match finished in a draw (2-2). Prior to the match this season, the last time they played each other was in 2016. The last time Villa defeated United in the EPL was back in 2009.
That brings me to my first best bet for Aston Villa vs. Manchester United.
Premier League Prop Best Bets
Game Prop: Manchester United to Win + Both Teams to Score (+220)
The Red Devils need to win this match. They can’t afford losing to a relegation team.
I also expect Villa will be able to find the scoresheet. United just defeated Bournemouth (19th) by a score of 5-2. Villa (36 Goals) have scored more goals than Bournemouth (32 Goals) this season.
Villa are averaging 1.19 GPG at home compared to 1.00 GPG in away matches.
Villa vs. Red Devils Anytime Goal Scorer Prediction
Best Bet: Anthony Martial (-110) to Score Anytime
If Martial is starting upfront for United, he’s the best bet to score anytime.
Martial scored a hat-trick in the win against Sheffield United. He was held scoreless in the win against Brighton and Hove Albion, but netted a goal last time out against Bournemouth.
If Martial doesn’t end up starting, I’m going to shift my focus to Mason Greenwood (+187).
Greenwood has scored three goals in the Red Devils last two matches. He’s offering up some nice value at this price, but I’m sticking with Martial as long as he ends up playing.
Realistically, you could bet on both United players to score anytime. With the way United are scoring right now, they could end up netting another five goals against Villa on Thursday.
