NOTES: This is one of three "elevated status" events on the PGA Tour calendar along with the Genesis Invitational and the Memorial. The winner among the 123-player field receives 550 FedEx Cup points and a three-year Tour exemption. ... The field features 29 of the top 50 players in the world rankings. ... Last year's tournament was the final full-field event before the COVID-19 hiatus. ... Reimagined by tournament namesake Arnold Palmer in 2009, Bay Hill has hosted a Tour event every year since 1979. ... International players have won the event each of the past five years. ... Jordan Spieth is making his Bay Hill debut after finishing T4-T3-T15 in his past three starts. ... Sponsors exemptions include Ryder Cup captains Padraig Harrington and Steve Stricker along with APGA star Kamaiu Johnson, who will make his second career PGA Tour start. ... Matthew Fitzpatrick's 69 was the only sub-70 round in blustery conditions in last year's final round. Hatton won at 4 under, with only four players finishing under par for the week.
BEST BETS: Rory McIlroy (+850 by DraftKings) won the event in 2018 and has finished T6 or better each of the past four years. ... Bryson DeChambeau's (+1200) length will be a big benefit at Bay Hill -- if he can show more consistency off the tee. He ranged from a 64 to a 77 last week, and water comes into play on nine holes this week. ... Viktor Hovland (+1200) might have won last week if not for an implosion on his final hole in the second round. He has gone T2-T6-T5-T2 in his past four starts and has six top-6s in his past seven. ... At No. 6, Hatton (+1800) is the highest-ranked player in the field. He has won twice in Europe over the past five months. ... Fitzpatrick (+2500) is coming off a T5 and T11 the past two weeks as he has risen to a career-best 16th in the world. He also won in Dubai in December and finished second at Bay Hill in 2019. ... Marc Leishman (+9000) is a previous Bay Hill winner who finished solo second last year. He is second to Tiger Woods in career earnings in the event.
