Types of College Baseball Bets
You won’t find nearly as many college baseball bet types as you would for MLB. The majority of games will allow you to bet on full game markets only, such as the moneyline, run line and game total.
NCAA Baseball Moneyline: You need to predict which team will win. An example of a moneyline bet is LSU (-125) vs. Mississippi (+105). LSU are favored (negative odds). When the odds are negative, you need to bet that amount to win $100, when the odds are positive you’ll win that amount on a $100 bet.
NCAA Baseball Run Line: Sportsbooks will set a run line (point spread) for all games. In MLB, run lines are always -1.5/+1.5, but in NCAA baseball the run lines can be higher. For example, if a powerhouse is playing a much weaker opponent, the run line might open at -5.5/+5.5 runs. A team favored by -5.5 runs needs to win by 6+ runs, while the team getting +5.5 runs can lose the game by 5 runs and win the bet.
NCAA Baseball Totals: An example of a game total bet is Florida vs. Clemson O/U 8 runs. If you bet on over 8 runs, both teams need to score a total of 9+ runs to win. A bet on the under will win if both teams score 7 or fewer runs. If both teams score exactly 8 runs, the bet will push (tie) and will be refunded.
Unfortunately, there are rarely college baseball props available to bet on. NCAA baseball betting isn’t too popular with casual sports bettors and therefore the volume isn’t big enough to justify more markets.
