NBA Player Props Picks for Sunday, January 22nd 2023

Although we have just seven match-ups to choose from this Sunday, January 22nd, there are still plenty of inviting NBA player props on offer. Join me as I go over my recommended NBA player props picks for today’s games.

NBA Bookies

Luka Doncic – Over 34.5 Points (-115)

Clippers vs. Mavericks Prediction

Luka Doncic finds himself at the summit of the point-scoring leaderboard, having racked up a whopping 1415 points in 42 appearances. Averaging 33.7 points per game this season, the Dallas Mavericks superstar is in a league of his own right now.

On Sunday, the Mavericks host the Los Angeles Clippers, who have lost nine of their last 12 games. Doncic registered 34 points when Dallas defeated the Miami Heat last time out, so I’m backing him to score over 34.5 against the Clippers.

NBA Odds

Jimmy Butler – Over 1.5 Steals (+100)

Pelicans vs. Heat Prediction

Only one player – O.G. Anunoby – has a better steals-per-game average than Jimmy Butler this season. The Miami Heat guard has accumulated 66 steals across 33 appearances, meaning he averages exactly two steals per game in 2022-23.

Butler has achieved over 1.5 steals in 14 of his previous 18 outings, with over 2.5 steals coming on six occasions during that period. With that in mind, I’m confident that he will claim at least two steals with the Heat host the New Orleans Pelicans.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Over 28.5 Points (-120)

Thunder vs. Nuggets Prediction

Boasting a nine-game winning streak, the Denver Nuggets are favored to beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday. Regardless of Denver’s expected dominance, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is destined to shine for the Thunder.

It is worth noting that only four players have a points-per-game average than Gilgeous-Alexander this season (30.6). The 24-year-old Canadian scored 37 against the Sacramento Kings last time out, so I can see him notching over 28.5 points on Sunday.

NBA Picks

Stephen Curry – Over 4.5 Three Pointers (+115)

Nets vs. Warriors Prediction

There is no denying that Stephen Curry is the undisputed king of threes. Not only does the Golden State Warriors legend find himself atop the NBA’s all-time three-pointer leaderboard, but he also occupies third place in this season’s standings.

Curry has landed 153 threes in 31 appearances this season, meaning he averages 4.9 threes per game in 2022-23. For that reason, I’m backing the 34-year-old to make over 4.5 threes when the Warriors host the Brooklyn Nets.

Anfernee Simons – Over 2.5 Three Pointers (-175)

Lakers vs. Trail Blazers Prediction

Funnily enough, Anfernee Simons has registered one three-pointer more than Curry this season. The Portland Trail Blazers youngster has racked up 154 threes across 43 outings, averaging 3.6 threes per game.

On Sunday, the Trail Blazers hosts the Los Angeles Lakers, who find themselves one place below Portland in the Western Conference. Granted, the Trail Blazers have struggled for consistency this season, but Simons shouldn’t struggle to land over 2.5 threes against the Lakers.
