The Packers are 7-1 at home and led by future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers. The #2 seed is coming off a bye during the opening round of the playoffs. Green Bay ended the season on a 5 game winning streak that was in large part due to their defense. Opponents averaged just over 14 points during the current winning streak as they were outscored 118-71 overall.
While Rodgers is a future Hall of Famer, this season the Pack offense has been average at best. They ranked 15th in scoring at 23.5 points per game.
Of course, Rodgers is the household name, but running back Aaron Jones tied Christian McCaffrey with 19 TDs this season to lead the league. While the offense was ok and the defense was much better, Rodgers name still resulted in a lot of action pushing the Over in games. This was not a solid strategy as the Packers played just 6-10 O/U or the year.
The Packers are healthy and hungry as they enter this game as one of the healthier squads in the playoffs. Not really any notable injuries listed for the Packers.
While the Packers enter the contest relatively healthy, the Seahawks are on the other end of the spectrum as they come to this contest the walking wounded. The Seahawks have been road warriors this season entering this contest at 7-1 away from home. They are led by maybe the game's best current quarterback in Russell Wilson. Wilson will have to carry the load, throwing and scrambling as he is behind a makeshift offensive line and both his season-long top running backs are out.
Chris Carson and Brad Penny are sidelined so Seattle will have to rely on Marshawn Lynch and hope Beast Mode can make a comeback. Green Bay is prone to allow rushing yards, so the Seahawks will have to at least try. Over half their starting offensive line is out or limited as well so receivers will need to get on routes quick.
While many will be quick to jump at the Packers side, I'm a little wary of going against Russell Wilson. The total on this game was as high as 47.5, but has been bet down to its current number of 46.
The Under is 5-2 in the Seahawks last 7 games. The Under has also come in to the tune of 7 of the last 8 games for the Packers overall. Anything is possible with these two great QBs, but this game says Under is the play.
