NHL Player Props Picks for Thursday, March 16th 2023

Are you looking for the best NHL player props for today’s games? Look no further! Having trawled the bookies’ odds, I have tracked down the top five NHL picks for Thursday, March 16th. Feel free to take advantage of my recommended wagers.

NHL Sportsbooks

Nathan MacKinnon – Over 1.5 Points (+115)

Avalanche vs. Senators Predictions

The Ottawa Senators find themselves third from bottom in the Atlantic Division following a run of three straight losses. Over in the Central Division, the Colorado Avalanche occupy third place, having won each of their past three encounters.

Not only has Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon scored two points in two of his last three games, but he has also notched two points in four of his previous eight. With that in mind, odds of +115 for MacKinnon to score over 1.5 points against off-form Ottawa look very attractive.

NHL Odds

Matthew Tkachuk – Over 4.5 Shots on Goal (+130)

Canadiens vs. Panthers Predictions

Matthew Tkachuk has been almost unstoppable in recent games. In addition to bagging three points against both the Chicago Blackhawks and Winnipeg Jets, the Florida Panthers winger racked up 16 shots on goal across those two games.

On Thursday, the Panthers host the Montreal Canadiens, who remain rock bottom of the Atlantic Division – four places below Florida. Since Tkachuk has notched over 5.5 shots on goal in five of his last eight outings, backing him to record over 4.5 SOG against lowly Montreal makes a lot of sense.

Roman Josi – Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (-160)

Blackhawks vs. Predators Predictions

Only eight players have chalked up more shots on goal than Roman Josi this season. Indeed, the Nashville Predators superstar has registered 265 shots on goal in 2022-23, meaning he averages an impressive 4.08 SOG per game.

Thanks largely to Josi’s exploits, the Predators head into Thursday’s clash against the Chicago Blackhawks on a three-game winning streak, with seven victories coming in their previous 10 outings. The Blackhawks remain rooted to the foot of the Central Division, so I’m backing Josi to enhance his SOG tally.

NHL Picks

Elias Pettersson – Over 0.5 Assists (-130)

Canucks vs. Coyotes Predictions

Not only has Elias Pettersson recorded four assists in his last three appearances, but he has also notched nine assists across his previous 10. As a result, only eight players have racked up more assists than Pettersson’s 53 this season.

Having claimed five successive victories, the Vancouver Canucks boast the longest current winning streak in the NHL. Pettersson has played a key role in his team’s recent upturn, so I can see him adding to his tally of assists against the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday.

Jonathan Marchessault – Over 0.5 Points (-130)

Flames vs. Golden Knights Predictions

Jonathan Marchessault registered three points when the Vegas Golden Knights beat the Philadelphia Flyers last time out, grabbing a goal and two assists. The Pacific Division leaders have now won each of their last four games, as well as seven of their previous 10.

It is also worth noting that Marchessault has recorded 10 points across his past seven appearances, picking up two three-point hauls during that period. That’s why I’m backing him to secure over 0.5 points against the Calgary Flames on Thursday.
