Oddsmakers view Ohio State as No. 2 CFP threat

The Ohio State Buckeyes climbed to No. 3 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll following their season-opening rout of Nebraska, and they’re considered the second betting favorite for the national title by several sportsbooks.

While Alabama (+275) has the second shortest national title odds at DraftKings behind Clemson (+120), Ohio State has surpassed the Crimson Tide at several other sportsbooks.

FanDuel was offering Clemson at +175 on Monday, followed by Ohio State (+200) and Alabama (+400). The next closest team was Georgia at +1600.

BetMGM also listed Clemson (+130) as the clear current favorite, with Ohio State and Alabama each at +350. Meanwhile, William Hill had moved Ohio State (+275) ahead of Alabama (+300) with Clemson the +160 favorite.

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence remains the overwhelming favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.

Lawrence was being offered at -100 by FanDuel and -167 by DraftKings.

FanDuel listed Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields at +250, followed by Alabama quarterback Mac Jones at +500, with no other player being offered at less than +3000.

Jones (+250) is second to Lawrence at DraftKings, with Fields third at +400 and the next closest player being Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask at +1600.
