Three Underdogs to Consider Betting Tuesday in NCAA Basketball

The NFL only has one game left in its season, and that won’t be for nearly two weeks. So it’s time to start brushing up on your college basketball wagering.

Here are three underdogs (What is an underdog?) that you may want to consider wagering on for Tuesday night.

North Carolina Tar Heels at Pittsburgh Panthers ATS Pick

Tar Heels vs. Panthers Preview

Best Bet: Pittsburgh +2

Home dogs! You should not always trust a home dog, but few things matter in college basketball more than playing on your home court.

Obviously, in the COVID-19 world, that means a little bit less with no (or very few) fans in the stands, but the fact remains, being at home is better.

The Panthers will host the Tar Heels for a 7 pm ET tip-off on Tuesday and have held steady as a two-point dog since the opening. North Carolina has won five of its last six games since starting 5-4 on the season, with Caleb Love seemingly turning a corner for Roy Williams’ group.

All of that said, Justin Champagnie is still one of the best players in the entire country that no one ever seems to talk about. The 6-6 sophomore continues to lead a surprising Panthers team with 20 points and 12 rebounds per game. That’s helped Pittsburgh to an 8-3 start over and a 4-2 record in ACC league play.

The Panthers are currently second in the ACC in covering the spread at 63.6%, while the Tar Heels are just 1-4 straight up on the road and 0-5 against the spread in true road games this season.

Missouri Tigers at Auburn Tigers ATS Pick

Tigers vs. Tigers Preview

Best Bet: Missouri +2

Yes, Auburn’s Sharife Cooper is good, but so are the Tigers from Missouri. In fact, Missouri has already shown that it is capable of beating quality teams on the road.

Cuonzo Martin’s group has already taken down three top 80 Kenpom teams on the road this season while covering the spread in four of its five true road games this season. Missouri is also obliterating the spread on the road, overperforming the line by 7.3 points per game with a margin of victory of 6.6.

The Tigers of black and gold are an experienced team with two juniors and three seniors as their top five scorers. Xavier Pinson leads the team in scoring with roughly 14 a game while Dru and Mark Smith provide the three-point shooting.

Big man Jeremiah Tilmon is having the best season of his career at 11.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game as the anchor in the middle.

Auburn has won three of its last four games, but Missouri is better than any of the four teams it has faced in the last couple of weeks. The visiting Tigers are a pretty safe play here.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Duke Blue Devils ATS Pick

Yellow Jackets vs. Blue Devils Preview

Best Bet: Georgia Tech +4.5

This is a fairly easy play. Duke is not the same at home without its fans and is currently the worst team in the ACC against the spread at 1-9 ATS. The Blue Devils have lost three games in a row and look completely lost on the defensive end.

Georgia Tech, on the other hand, is 4-1 against the spread as the underdog while outperforming the spread by a massive 10.7 points per game. The name on the jerseys will make you hesitant, but the trends suggest this number is simply wrong.
