Premier League Gameweek 28 Predictions

With the FA Cup quarterfinals taking place across Saturday and Sunday, Gameweek 28 of the 2022-23 Premier League season comprises just seven matches. Still, there is no shortage of attractive EPL picks to take advantage of.

Premier League Bookmakers

The weekend is fast approaching, so it’s time to lock in your Premier League predictions and lay down some wagers. Lucky for you, I have scoured the bookies’ odds to find the best EPL bets for Gameweek 28. Read on to explore my recommended picks.

Nottingham Forest vs. Newcastle United Picks

Best Bet: Double Chance Nottingham Forest or Draw (+110)

There is no hiding the fact that Nottingham Forest sits nine places and 18 points below Newcastle United in the Premier League table. That said, Forest has not suffered a home league defeat since September, picking up four wins and five draws in the process.

Boasting a mammoth nine-game unbeaten run at City Ground, the Tricky Trees will fancy their chances of frustrating Champions League-chasing Newcastle. With that in mind, I’m backing Forest to avoid defeat on home soil for a tenth successive outing.

Premier League Betting Tips

Aston Villa vs. Bournemouth Picks

Best Bet: Ollie Watkins Anytime Goalscorer (+115)

It’s fair to say that Aston Villa has improved dramatically since Unai Emery replaced Steven Gerrard, with key players stepping up under the new manager. One of those players is Ollie Watkins, who has scored six goals in his last seven Premier League appearances.

After finding the back of the net in five consecutive games across January and February, Watkins drew a blank against Crystal Palace before returning to the scoresheet against West Ham United last weekend. With relegation-threatened Bournemouth up next for Villa, Watkins will be hopeful of extending his scoring streak.

Southampton vs. Tottenham Hotspur Picks

Best Bet: Harry Kane Anytime Goalscorer (-118)

Another player enjoying a seemingly unstoppable scoring streak is Harry Kane. The Tottenham Hotspur striker bagged a brace against Forest last time out, taking his tally for the season to 20 goals in 27 Premier League games.

Not only has Kane scored three goals in his last three league outings, but he has also scored five in his previous seven. Since Southampton sits rock bottom of the Premier League table with one of the worst defensive records in the division, Kane looks destined to find the back of the net again this weekend.

Asian Handicap Betting Guide

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Leeds United

Best Bet: Under 2.5 Goals (-163)

Having netted a measly 20 goals in 27 matches, Wolverhampton Wanderers are the joint-lowest scorers in the Premier League this season. With that in mind, you probably won’t be surprised to learn that four of Wolves’ past five league matches have produced under 2.5 goals.

When you look at the bigger picture, only 11 of Wolves’ 27 encounters have dished up over 2.5 goals. Julen Lopetegui’s men face relegation rivals Leeds United on Saturday, so I can see them playing out a cagey and low-scoring game at Molineux.

Chelsea vs. Everton Picks

Best Bet: Chelsea -1 (+130)

Chelsea heads into Saturday’s showdown with Everton on a three-game winning streak. After beating Leeds 1-0, Graham Potter’s men claimed a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League before defeating Leicester City 3-1 last weekend.

On the flip side, the Toffees have managed to win just three of their last 17 matches across all competitions, suffering 11 defeats along the way. Given Chelsea’s new-found confidence, I expect the Blues to beat Everton by two clear goals at Stamford Bridge.
