Props For "The Fall Classic"

As the calendar turns to October the marathon baseball regular season has concluded and we are off and running on baseball's second season. I'm talking about the postseason, where teams from both the American and National League vie for a chance to play in the Fall Classic known also as the World Series.

While many people love betting this time of year on who will win the various contests and who ultimately wins the World Series I'm going to focus here on another type of World Series wager that comes a little closer to the big event. I'm talking about prop bets and there are sure to be an abundance of them as the World Series teams are decided.

Where To Look For Prop Bets?

While you will be able to find props at most sportsbooks as the World Series approaches there is one place that really sticks out as the leader in the number of props offered. The offshore sportsbooks far and away are the best place to look when searching for a wide variety of props. No better place to start than on your computer or mobile device when looking for some action beyond who wins and loses and how many runs they score.

Intertops is always one of my first stops when looking for props to wager on as they generally offer a wide variety with all of your standard props and even a few you may not find anywhere else.

A Few Favorites

When you start looking at the prop markets there will be several options of where to place your money for action. I personally have a few favorites I will look for right away when deciding what props I want to play.

Probably the first I look at each season is the who will be the World Series MVP. Since 1955, this honor has been taken down by 38 positional players and 28 pitchers. If you are going to fire on pitchers than your best bet is to generally stick with the stars. If a pitcher wins an MVP history has shown it's going to be a big name. If taking a positional player to win then you may have a little better luck trying to find someone with a hot hand. Just look at last year's MVP in Steve Pearce. A good player of course, but don't think anyone is going to classify him as a superstar. Who will get hot this October and take down the coveted award?

Here Come The Pitchers

Another favorite bet of mine from years past is the wager for most pitchers used in a game by one team. This is the World Series so conserving your bullpen is off the table for most of these managers. These guys will go to bullpens earlier and often at this level and the total for these types of wagers will often be around 7. In this day and age of openers and short leashes, anything is possible with teams including using a whole bullpen.

An Entertaining Option

The World Series will also bring about a series of entertaining prop bets. One of my favorites of years past is picking which manager will be the first(if any) to get ejected from the game.  Who doesn't love a manager going nut and getting the old heave-ho? Some do it better than others but its always a crowd favorite when it happens.  Now you can wager on which one will be the first.  It's always good to have a rooting interest.

The bottom line is October is here and baseball means something now. The Fall Classic will be here before we know it so its never too early to start thinking about what you might want to be on the lookout for as far as wagering.
