Georgia Tech at Wake Forest Prediction

Georgia Tech vs. Wake Forest Betting Report

Best Bet: Georgia Tech -9

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are currently barely in the NCAA Tournament after their win over the Duke Blue Devils on Tuesday night. Josh Pastner’s group has been hot in recent weeks, winning five consecutive road games, including its win over a Mike Krzyzewski-led team for the first time since 2010.

A loss to the Demon Deacons would almost certainly push the Yellow Jackets back outside of the tournament field and leave a terrible taste in the selection committee’s mouths heading into ACC tournament play. Losing to Wake Forest, even on the road, would almost certainly mean the Jackets would need a win (or two) in the ACC tournament.

The good news is that Georgia Tech currently boasts the best player in the league in Moses Wright, who is having a historic season. The former unranked player coming out of high school is one of the favorites for ACC Player of the Year and is dominating teams in his last three games, averaging nearly 30 points and 14 rebounds per game.

Look for the Yellow Jackets to end their season and lock up their bid in a loud and convincing way against a team that just doesn’t have the horses to keep up.

Kent State at Buffalo Picks

Kent State vs. Buffalo Betting Report

Best Bet: Kent State +5

If there is one name you need to know in this game, it’s Danny Pippen of Kent State. Pippen is one of only four players in the entire nation that is averaging 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists, and a block per game.

Pippen has been a little cooler lately, but he has been good enough that the Golden Flashes have covered in eight of their last 11 games. If he is able to put it together in this game, Kent State should cover the five-point spread.

The Golden Flashes were able to pull out the victory at home over the Bulls nearly six weeks ago in a game in which Pippen did not play particularly well. Meanwhile, Buffalo stars Ronald Segu and Jayvon Graves played extremely well.

Kent State is the second-best team against the spread in the MAC, covering the number in seven of its 10 true road games. Rob Senderoff’s team is covering the spread by an average of 2.7 points per game on the road this season.

On the flip side, the Buffalo Bulls have been decent straight-up at home with a 7-3 record but have covered in just four of their games at home on the season. The Bulls have won seven of their last eight games, with the lone loss coming against the lone team that ranks within the Ken Pomery top 100. Kent State is currently 87th in the KenPom rankings.
