UFC 256: Figueiredo vs. Moreno Predictions

This will be the last pay-per-view card for 2020.

The UFC has done a great job at providing consistent events for fans to watch and bet on, even in a global pandemic. The fight card is stacked with exciting fighters.

Hopefully there are no last-minute changes needed because of COVID-19.

The main card has some great fights, but even if you’re not getting the PPV, tune in for the prelims, as there are some big names fighting, including Cub Swanson and Billy Quarantillo.

Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno Picks

Fight Odds: Figueiredo (-300) vs. Moreno (+250)

We just won with Figueiredo (20-1) on November 21st and he’s back in the cage.

He’ll put the UFC Flyweight Championship on the line against Moreno (18-5-1). Moreno also fought at UFC 255 last month, so both guys are coming into this fight on short notice.

Moreno knocked out Royval in the first-round and Figueiredo tapped Perez in 1:57.

This is a good match-up, but can Daico be stopped right now? He has four stoppage wins since October 2019 and three of those were in the opening round of the fight.

Moreno comes into the fight 2” taller and with a 2” reach advantage. He averages more strikes (3.01 SLpM vs. 2.79 SLpM), but Figueiredo is way more accurate (55% vs. 35%).

Both guys can land takedowns as well. Moreno averages 1.93 TDs per 15 minutes, while Figueiredo averages 1.68 TDs per 15 minutes. Daico has 8 submission wins, while Moreno has 10.

Figueiredo has the edge in power, though. Neither guy has been stopped, but that’s likely going to change on Saturday. If you don’t mind juice, this fight not going the distance is priced at -250 odds.

My best bet is on Figueiredo to win by stoppage.

Best Bet: Deiveson Figueiredo ITD (-152)

Expert UFC Betting Tips and Strategies

Tony Ferguson vs. Charles Oliveira Picks

Fight Odds: Ferguson (-170) vs. Oliveira (+145)

Ferguson (25-4) is coming off a loss to Gaethje (TKO), which snapped a 12-game win streak.

He’ll be fighting Oliveira who has been on a great run. Since losing to Felder in 2017, Oliveira is on a seven-fight win streak with all of those wins coming by stoppage.

Only one of those seven fights made it out of the second round. He’s coming off a submission win against Lee. Ferguson also defeated Lee by submission, but that was back in 2017.

Ferguson has the striking edge and if he can put pressure on Oliveira early in this fight and keep the fight standing, he’ll have a great night. Ferguson averages an impressive 5.80 SLpM.

Oliveira averages 3.27 SLpM, but he also averages 2.61 TDs per 15 minutes. Ferguson will have a 2” reach advantage, so that should allow him to push forward and connect with strikes.

Ferguson has a lot of power. He has 12 TKO/KO wins and prior to losing to Gaethje, he had picked up knockout wins against Pettis and Cerrone. I have Ferguson winning by TKO/KO, but I’m playing it safer by betting on the moneyline.

The winner of this fight will likely be in line for a title shot next year.

How Much Do UFC Fighters Make?

Ciryl Gane vs. Junior dos Santos Picks

Fight Odds: Gane (-425) vs. Dos Santos (+325)

JDS (21-8) was once a UFC superstar, but he has been knocked out in three consecutive fights. He hasn’t been fighting slouches, as the losses were against Ngannou, Blaydes and Rozenstruik.

Gane is one of the top prospects in the UFC heavyweight division. He joined the UFC last year and he’s already 3-0 with wins against Pessoa, Mayes and Boser. Two of those wins were by submission.

Dos Santos has now been knocked out six times in his career. Gane can get a big stoppage win against a fighter with a lot of name recognition. This is his chance to get noticed.

I expect him to come out and finish JDS as fast as possible. He’s an athletic beast and I just can’t see how JDS is going to handle him. This fight likely ends in the opening round.

Best Bet: Ciryl Gane ITD (-140)

UFC 255 Parlay Predictions

Here’s my UFC 255 parlay. New to betting? Read our parlay betting guide.

Gane ML + Dern ML (Bet $100 = $85 Profit)

I’m keeping it simple with Gane and Dern. Mackenzie Dern (9-1) is 4-1 in the UFC with three wins by submission. She has won her last two fights in the opening round by armbar and kneebar.

Virna Jandiroba (16-1) is 2-1 in the UFC. She lost her debut to Esparza, but she has bounced back with wins against Martin and Herrig. BOth of her wins have come by submission.

Both of these women are great grapplers, but Dern is a big edge. Dern is going to be able to use her grappling skills to finish this fight by submission.
