UFC 272 has nonstop fighting action for MMA fans that you absolutely cannot miss. Even though it is not a title fight, some beef has to be settled in the octagon between previous friends Colby Covington and Jorge Masvidal.
Other fights on the card present great betting opportunities and should keep you entertained. Below you can see who might be victorious and what to expect from UFC 272.
When: Saturday, March 5th 2022
Where: T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas
Watch: ESPN+ and PPV
Colby Covington vs. Jorge Masvidal Prediction
Fans can only hope that this battle stays on their feet, as both fighters are more than capable of boxing around for several rounds. Since it is a five-round matchup, it might not make it all the way there simply just by boxing.
Covington has a knack for controlling fights and being aggressive with takedowns. He might not land a submission, but you can bet that he will throw some takedowns to try and tire out an opponent.
Masvidal has legitimate one-hit knockout power despite being 37. His best days are behind him, but he still has a ton of fight left in him to land one of those deadly strikes.
If this were a simple matchup, then Covington wins in any form you could imagine. However, Masvidal will make him work for it, which will make Covington drag this out all through five rounds. Make this one of your parlay pieces.
Best Bet: Covington wins at -335
Rafael dos Anjos vs. Renato Moicano Prediction
Moicano has been begging for a chance to fight ranked opponents in the lightweight division. He finally gets that opportunity, on just five days’ notice, to step in and fight a UFC veteran and sixth-ranked fighter Rafael dos Anjos.
Dos Anjos has been around since 2008 in the UFC and battled against some of the greats to ever do it. His experience in the octagon cannot be overlooked, but his age is getting up there and might be concerning against hungrier fighters.
Moicano might not go toe to toe with dos Anjos in a striking war, but he can pin him down and control the battle that way. This might not be a pretty fight later on, but Moicano needs this to continue his career in a positive manner.
Best Bet: Moicano wins at +155
Edson Barboza vs. Bryce Mitchell Prediction
Mitchell enters this battle with 14 consecutive victories and is trying to stay undefeated. The problem with that scenario is that he faces a legitimate veteran that absolutely does not care who is in front of him.
Some markets are high on Mitchell, but Barboza can piece him up in a flurry. This might end rather quickly if Mitchell cannot control the pace. Look into Barboza by method of victory.
Best Bet: Barboza wins by TKO at +330
