UFC on ABC 2 is this Saturday at the APEX Facility in Las Vegas.
UFC on ABC 2 or UFC Vegas 23 will be headlined by Marvin Vettori vs. Kevin Holland. Vettori is the biggest favorite on the fight card, which is rare for a main event fight.
I took a little hiatus after a strong 2020 with my UFC picks here at SAS. I’m back now and will be publishing my best bets for every UFC event and like last year, I’ll track my record.
There are 14 fights scheduled for UFC on ABC 2.
Marvin Vettori vs. Kevin Holland Picks
Fight Odds: Vettori (-335) vs. Holland (+280)
Vettori (16-4-1) is now 6-2-1 in the UFC and he’s on a four-fight win streak. He has picked up wins against Ferreira (Dec), Sanchez (Dec), Roberson (Sub) and Hermansson (Dec).
He’s not a powerful striker (2 TKO/KO wins), but he has nine submission wins.
Holland (21-6) had a five-fight win streak snapped with a brutal loss to Brunson (Dec). That loss was on March 20th and he took this fight on late notice, as Till is out with an injury.
During his five-fight win streak, Holland won four fights by TKO/KO, including one against Souza last year. Vettori has never been stopped in his career, but Holland is capable of changing that.
That being said, the most likely outcome is Vettori winning by decision. Brunson was able to utilize his wrestling against Holland and Vettori should look to do the same this weekend.
Holland will have a 3’’ height and 7” reach advantage in this fight, but Vettori likes to pressure his opponents, which should help negate the massive reach of Holland.
This is a five round fight, but we’re getting an insane price on this fight going over 2.5 rounds.
Best Bet: Over 2.5 Rounds (-135)

Julian Marquez vs. Sam Alvey Picks
Fight Odds: Marquez (-185) vs. Alvey (+165)
The odds on Marquez (8-2) are rising, so get on him now, as the price will be worse by fight night. He’ll be fighting Alvey (33-14-1-1) who hasn’t won a fight since 2018.
Alvey is on a 0-4-1 run right now. He has been knocked out twice during his winless streak.
Marquez is 2-1 in the UFC with wins against Stewart and Pitolo. Both wins were by submission. His loss was against Di Chirico (Dec). Alvey has only been tapped once in his career back in 2010.
This fight will likely go the distance, but Marquez will outpoint Alvey. Alvey’s one-dimensional and if he doesn’t land his counter right hook, he generally ends up losing.
Marquez feels like a safe favorite priced under -200 odds, making him a great straight bet, but also a banker to use on your UFC Vegas 23 parlays this Saturday.

Daniel Rodriguez vs. Mike Perry Picks
Fight Odds: Rodriguez (-155) vs. Perry (+135)
For some reason, the odds on Rodriguez (13-2) are dropping. He was priced in the -185 range, but I’ll take the discount and lock him in now at -155 to simply defeat Perry (14-7).
Perry is only 7-7 in the UFC. He has lost three of his last four fights. He has three wins since 2017 and all of them are by decision. Rodriguez is relatively new to the UFC, but he went 3-1 in 2020.
He’s coming off a decision loss to Dalby despite out-striking his opponent 83-50. Rodriguez is now averaging 7.68 SLpM, however he takes a lot of damage (6.12 SApM).
A 3” reach advantage will help him in the striking department against Perry. He’s also capable of taking the fight to the mat. He has 62% takedown accuracy and 90% takedown defense.
This is a main card fight and Rodriguez will want to get back in the win column. I expect him to come out firing. Perry has only been stopped twice, though, so this could go the distance.
Best Bet: Rodriguez ML (-155)
