Sam Houston Bearkats vs. Louisiana Tech Bulldogs Preview and Predictions 11-11-2018 in NCAAB

The Bearkats are off to a quick 2-0 start and look to continue their winning ways against a much better basketball team in the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The first two games were all peaches and cream for the Bearkats but now reality sets in! Sam Houston got its first win against the East Texas Baptist Tigers with what ended up being a reasonably close game that ended at 85-64. On Thursday, the Bearkats picked up their second victory of the season against the Southwestern Pirates, and this one was a blowout win, 94-56. Of course, these games were figured to be blowouts. Sam Houston did their jobs against unheard of, tiny little colleges that have no basketball program to speak of whatsoever. Now, the Bearkats face a much tougher opponent in the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs hit the court on a huge high after beating a perineal Top 25 team, in Wichita State. What a win for this program. This is a bigger win than many may realize. Wichita State has been very good, for a long time and to not only get the win but get it big in a 71-58 final, in Wichita. This is a big deal and just maybe, LA Tech has turned the corner with their basketball program. There is certainly a very long way to go in this season and the Wichita game was just one, but what a start it was. If Tech plays against Sam Houston, the way they did against Wichita, this game will not be close, it will be a barn-burning blowout.

ABOUT SAM HOUSTON (2018/19 2-0): The Bearkats come in at 2-0 and that’s a great start for any team. So, we give credit where credit is due. However, don’t get excited, the two wins should have been huge blowout victories and one was but the first wasn’t and that gives pause as to how this team will play much tougher competition. The Bearkats have a lot of depth and they showed that in the 94-56 win over the Southwestern Pirates, with six players in double figures. The Bearkats dominated the first half against the Pirates and led at the break 43-23. Zack Nutall led the way in scoring with 15 points. It was a great game for Sam Houston against a totally non-legit opponent. There is simply no takeaway from this game.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (2018/19 1-0): The Bulldogs went to Wichita, Kansas with one thing on their minds; beating Wichita. They walked out of that building with a victory under their belt as they snapped a 22 game season opening, losing streak. What a way to end the streak! Wichita was 72 of 75 at home going into this game! The Shockers had lost 3 of the last 75 games at home. This is one of the biggest wins in all of college basketball in a very long time and easily the biggest win for any school from Louisiana, in history.

EXTRA POINTS

1. The Bulldogs allowed 58 points to Wichita, they just might allow 20 less to Sam Houston!

2. DaQuan Bracey led the Wichita attack with 16 points and 4 rebounds. Look for him to have a huge game against SH.

3. Bet the Total Under. This game will be a defensive gem from LA Tech.
