After suffering a 36-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals, the Cincinnati Bengals head into Week 2 of the preseason. As with most preseason games, we don't expect to see any of the Bengals top players.

However, as they face the New York Giants, the Bengals come in as heavy underdogs. Perhaps the second and third team lineups can put together a strong showing on Sunday.

The New York Giants are 1-0 in the preseason after beating the New England Patriots. They had a strong showing against New England, winning the game 23-21.

We're going to take a look at the top players in that game and how they could perform tonight. Along with that, we'll look at the betting lines for this one. By the end, we'll come up with a pick and prediction for this game.

Bengals vs. Giants Betting Preview and Trends

Before we start making our picks for the Bengals at the Giants, we're going to look at last week. Since they suffered a loss, the Bengals are the underdogs but should they be? They faced one of the best offensive minds in the league when they took on Kliff Kingsbury and the Cardinals.

The truth is, the Bengals got off to a bad start defensively and were down 23-9 at halftime. Overcoming that much of a deficit would be hard for any team to do, especially with your starters out. Still, the Bengals went on to outscore the Cardinals for the rest of the game.

Jake Browning went 13 for 24, throwing 190 yards in the loss to the Cardinals. As a team, the Bengals put up 339 total yards, beating the Cardinals by nearly 30-yards. They also controlled the clock with a 32:13 time of possession. By using this, they can beat the Giants on Sunday.

The New York Giants offense was up 10-7 over the New England Patriots at halftime. From that point on, it was all New York who scored 13 points to end the game.

Keep in mind, however, that they nearly lost to the Patriots. More importantly, they failed to cover the spread.

Leading the group for New York was Tyrod Taylor, which is no surprise. Taylor is a competent quarterback who is in search of a starting job.

Throwing for 129 yards and a touchdown, Taylor is more than qualified to be a starting quarterback. He'll likely use this game against the Bengals to further that point. The only problem is that he has a limited amount of time on the field.

As a team, the New York Giants put up a total of 418 yards, which is impressive. Perhaps even more impressive is how well they controlled the clock.

With a time of possession of 33:59, the Giants had the ball for well over 50% of the game. They did this by running the ball efficiently.

Bengals vs. Giants Prediction

The New York Giants' offense was polarizing, but they didn't score very many points. In fact, had the Bengals gotten off to a better start, Cincinnati would likely be favored here. Taking the Giants, who are six-point favorites, doesn't make much sense to us.

The Bengals' offense performed just as well and got better as the night went on. Their defense also got better as they shut down the Cardinals in the fourth quarter. Between these two, we'd much rather take the Bengals +6.

Final Score: 27-24 (Bengals)

1. The Cincinnati Bengals are 8-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last nine games.

2. Cincinnati is 4-2 ATS in their last six games against the New York Giants.

3. The New York Giants are 0-7 ATS in their last seven games.

Best Bet: Cincinnati Bengals +6 (-110) and Over 38.5 (-110)
