The New York Giants will try to earn their first win of the season when they host the Washington Football Team on Sunday afternoon in East Rutherford, N.J.

New York (0-5) is off to a miserable start and enters Week 6 as one of only three winless teams. The others are the New York Jets, who share a stadium with the Giants, and the Atlanta Falcons, who fired coach Dan Quinn.

Three of the Giants' losses have come by single digits, including a 37-34 road setback last week against the Dallas Cowboys. First-year head coach Joe Judge said he is encouraged by his team's progress.

"That's all that really matters, to be honest with you, the progress that we're making right now," Judge said after his team's latest loss. "The record will come in time. Obviously, we're not happy about the losses, that's not what we do here. But I've seen a lot of progress on all fronts and all units. We have to keep making consistent progress to keep being a better team as the year goes."

Washington (1-4) also is looking for signs of improvement after dropping its last four games. The club's trajectory is pointing downward after a 30-10 loss last week against the Los Angeles Rams, which marked the most lopsided defeat of the season.

Second-year quarterback Dwayne Haskins was benched heading into last week in favor of backup Kyle Allen. Allen completed 9 of 13 passes for 74 yards and rushed for a touchdown before he was injured on a scramble, which created an opportunity for Alex Smith to take the field for the first time since a gruesome leg injury in 2018.

Washington is expected to turn back to Allen against the Giants after he reportedly was cleared by doctors to return. This would be his 15th career start, including 13 with the Carolina Panthers over the previous two seasons.

Haskins was not on the sidelines last week because of an unspecified illness, and he was not at practice Wednesday as Washington prepared for the Giants. Head coach Ron Rivera said the team is following proper protocols.

"We're not keeping him out of the building, just so everybody knows," Rivera said. "What we've done is, he's come in, he's seen the doctors, he's taken his test and he's gone home."

New York will stick with second-year quarterback Daniel Jones, who has shown flashes of potential but enters the week with only two touchdowns compared with five interceptions on the season. His 70.6 passer rating is down from his rookie season, when he posted an 87.7 rating.

Neither team ranks well in total offense. The Giants are third-to-last in the league with 282.4 yards per game, while Washington is dead last with 263.0 yards per contest.

In terms of total defense, New York ranks No. 8 in the league with 343.0 yards allowed per game. Washington checks in at No. 15 with 356.4 yards allowed on average.

New York is 0-2 at home this season. Washington is 0-2 on the road.

How Our Computer Picks System Works

Our software doesn't simulate sports results like our competitors, we track real bets.

We have exclusive access to a database with 10,000+ real bettors. Our software tracks all of these players in real-time.

Our proprietary algorithms then rank every handicapper in the database based on how well they perform by sport and bet type.

When our system identifies multiple sharps betting on the same outcome, our software automatically publishes the AI pick above.

We have zero control on the picks released by our software. It's simply using algorithms to generate the sharpest sports picks with the most value (+EV).

Why Are There No Computer Picks?

Our AI system generates quality picks with a proven return on investment (ROI).

We believe in quality over quantity.

Some days, there may be zero AI picks, as our algorithms haven't generated any picks with enough value to be released .

We recommend not looking at the volume of bets released by our AI software, but look at the results and profits generated.

If there are no computer picks listed here, we still have daily sports picks from the pros.

Washington Football Team vs. New York Giants

Linebacker Tae Crowder returned a fumble 43 yards for a go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter, and the New York Giants held on for a 20-19 win over the Washington Football Team on Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J.

Cam Sims scored a touchdown with 36 seconds left to pull Washington within one point, and head coach Ron Rivera decided to go for a two-point conversion rather than settling for an extra point to even the score. The gamble failed as quarterback Kyle Allen threw an incomplete pass on the two-point attempt.

The sequence preserved the game-winning score for Crowder, a rookie from Georgia who received the "Mr. Irrelevant" designation as the 255th and final pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. He made headlines for a much more positive reason as he quickly reacted to Allen's fumble in the pocket to score with 3:29 remaining.

New York (1-5) notched its first win under head coach Joe Judge. Washington (1-5) dropped its fifth game in a row.

Allen completed 31 of 42 passes for 280 yards, two touchdowns and one interception to go along with his fumble.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones completed 12 of 19 passes for 112 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

New York jumped to a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

After Graham Gano made a 33-yard field goal to begin the scoring, the Giants pushed their lead to double digits on a 23-yard touchdown pass from Jones to Darius Slayton with 1:36 left in the opening quarter. Washington blitzed but Jones quickly lobbed a throw toward the left corner of the end zone for Slayton's third score of the season.

Washington cut the deficit to 10-3 on a 35-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins early in the second quarter. The Giants responded several minutes later with a 20-yard field goal by Gano to pull back ahead by 10.

With 17 seconds to go before halftime, Washington notched its first touchdown to pull within 13-10. Tight end Logan Thomas sprinted toward the back left corner of the end zone, made the 5-yard catch and dragged his toes to stay inbounds.

Washington evened the score at 13-13 on Hopkins' 28-yard field goal with 9:07 to go in the third quarter.

That remained the score until Crowder's tiebreaking touchdown and Sims' late response on a 22-yard catch.

Giants wide receiver C.J. Board was carted off the field in the third quarter after a scary play in which he landed on his head and neck after attempting to make a catch.
