We’ve got another AFC North battle set between the Ravens and the Steelers. The Baltimore Ravens are fresh off of a win over the Cleveland Browns and lead the AFC North.

Their 8-3 record is mostly due to Lamar Jackson, who has found ways to lead his team to victory. Can they take down another AFC North rival that is desperately searching for a win?

The Pittsburgh Steelers have lost their last two games and have a 5-5-1 record. They aren’t out of playoff contention yet but could find themselves on the outskirts with another loss.

This week they face a familiar foe, one that they’re forced to face twice a year. If the Steelers want to climb back into playoff talks, they’ll need to beat the Ravens. The question is, how can they do it?

Ravens at Steelers Preview, Trends and Stats

As the Ravens set out to face the Steelers, we wonder how this first meeting will go. Sure, the Steelers are having a rough season, but are historically the victor in these games. Last season, the Baltimore Ravens were swept by the Steelers in their two-game series.

However, the Ravens of last season aren’t quite as dynamic as they are this season or so we think.

One thing the Ravens will have to work on is the time of possession. We’d like to see the Ravens hold onto the ball slightly longer during their drives, especially late in the game.

The last thing you want to do is give a team a chance to come back. They can do more to control the clock by focusing on the run, an area in which they excel.

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, stopping the Ravens isn’t an easy task to take on. They rank second in the NFL in rushing yards per game with 150.7. They also have the ninth-ranked defense allowing an average of 21.8 points per game.

The Steelers can start with slowing down the person responsible for all of their offense, Lamar Jackson.

We’ve seen teams contain Lamar Jackson before, so we know that it’s possible. However, the Steelers injury list on defense just keeps growing, making this a tough challenge. They’ll need to get bodies on Lamar Jackson early, slowing down his ability to leave the pocket.

They also have to cover well downfield, especially Mark Andrews, who torched the Browns defense.

Ravens at Steelers Prediction

Ravens 24 - Steelers 16

We love the Ravens in this one to win the game, but what about covering the spread? It’s not a large spread, just 4.5 points, but the Ravens haven’t been great at the sportsbook.

The Steelers, however, have been awful against the spread and are 1-5 ATS at home. If you’re looking for dependability, the Ravens are the best bet.

They also have a ton of ways that they can score in this game. Lamar Jackson is obviously the number one option, but he isn’t the only one. Look for the Ravens to start this game off with a bang and cover the spread.

Keep in mind that most of the Ravens' recent games have gone under the expected total.

1. The total has gone UNDER in 10 of Baltimore's last 15 games.

2. Baltimore is 4-0-1 ATS in their last five games when playing on the road against Pittsburgh.

3. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3-7 ATS in their last ten games.

Best Bet: Baltimore Ravens -4.5

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Recap DEC 2TH 2020

Baltimore's Marlon Humphrey caused and recovered a Juju Smith-Schuster fumble, setting up Justin Tucker's 46-yard field goal in overtime Sunday that gave the visiting Ravens a 26-23 win in Pittsburgh.

The game was marred by a concussion to Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph, who has been playing after Ben Roethlisberger had elbow surgery. He was knocked unconscious at 7:26 of the third quarter.

Rudolph scrambled to his left to complete a pass to James Washington, and was sandwiched by Baltimore's Brandon Carr from behind and Earl Thomas -- who hit Rudolph high and got a penalty for roughing the passer.

Rudolph walked off the field with assistance and eventually was transported to a hospital.

Rudolph completed 13 of 20 passes for 131 yards and a touchdown, to Smith-Schuster. He was replaced by Devlin Hodges, who was 7 of 9 for 68 yards in his NFL debut. James Conner rushed for a touchdown.

Baltimore's Lamar Jackson was 19 of 28 for 161 yards with one touchdown. He was intercepted three times and sacked five times. Mark Ingram II ran for a touchdown.

Baltimore safety Tony Jefferson was taken off the field on a cart because of an apparent left knee injury in the fourth quarter.

Tucker gave the Ravens a 3-0 lead with a 27-yard field goal at 7:21 of the first quarter.

Baltimore got the ball right back when Pittsburgh's Jaylen Samuels, out of the wildcat, was intercepted by Josh Bynes. Ingram bulled 4 yards into the end zone to make it 10-0.

Rudolph hit Smith-Schuster for a 35-yard touchdown to cut it to 10-7 with 2:41 to play in the first quarter.

Baltimore then moved 75 yards in 13 plays, culminating with Jackson's 11-yard scoring pass to Marquise Brown for a 17-7 lead.

Chris Boswell's 41-yard field goal drew Pittsburgh to within 17-10.

After Mike Hilton intercepted Jackson, Boswell added a 29-yarder as the first half ended to close it to 17-13.

Hodges completed the third-quarter drive after Rudolph got hurt, with Conner running 1 yard up the middle for a 20-17 Pittsburgh lead.

Tucker tied it on a 26-yard field goal, but Boswell put Pittsburgh back on top 23-20 with a 33-yarder with 2:37 remaining.

Tucker answered from 48 yards out with 10 seconds left to send it to overtime.
