Atlanta Hawks INJÚRIOS

Sem informação

What is the history of Atlanta Hawks?

The history of Atlanta Hawks began with the Tri-Cities Blackhawks, an NBA franchise that has been around since 1946 and was based in Moline, Rock Island, and Davenport, Illinois, played in the NBA for three seasons before the league's inception. Ahead of the 1951–52 season, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and simplified their name to "Hawks." The Hawks' fortunes turned around in 1954 when they selected Bob Pettit, a future NBA Hall of Famer, with the second overall pick of the NBA draft.

After relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, in 1955, the Hawks reached the NBA finals in 1956–57, losing in seven games to the eventual champion Boston Celtics. In a rematch of the finals from the previous year, the Hawks prevailed over the Celtics to claim the franchise's first championship. The Hawks made the playoffs in all but one of the subsequent 15 seasons, but they never made it past the conference finals again.

In 1968, the Hawks were purchased by a consortium from Georgia, prompting the team's relocation to Atlanta. Players like Pete Maravich, Walt Bellamy, and Lou Hudson were staples of the early Atlanta squads. In a post-draft deal with the Warriors in 1982, the Hawks acquired youngster Dominique Wilkins, who would become the franchise's most famous player during its Atlanta era. Wilkins, nicknamed "the Human Highlight Film" for his spectacularly acrobatic slam dunks, was one of the NBA's all-time leading scorers in the 1980s and helped lead the Hawks to four consecutive 50-win seasons.

Despite his many individual successes, the Atlanta Hawks never made it past the second round of the NBA playoffs throughout his 12-year tenure with the franchise. Atlanta's playoff drought began in the 1999–2000 season and lasted until the 2007–2008 season when a young Hawks squad forced the first-round series against the eventual champion Celtics to go seven games. The Hawks made the playoffs regularly during the first decade of the 21st century. Still, they never made it past the second round.

The 2014–15 season was the Hawks' breakout year. They won a franchise-record 60 games and reached the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since moving to Atlanta (where they ultimately lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers). It turned out to be a temporary improvement, though, as the Hawks fell back into their usual second-round rut in 2015–16. After losing several key players in the offseason that followed, the 2017–18 team managed only 24 victories and finished dead last in their division.

The Atlanta Hawks Regular Season Roster and Stats for the 2021-2022 season are as follows:

Starters:

  1. Trae Young
  2. Kevin Huerter
  3. Danilo Gallinari
  4. Clint Capela
  5. Bogdan Bogdanovic

The Atlanta Hawks are a professional basketball team based in Atlanta, Georgia. The Hawks, who compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA), play in the league's Eastern Conference Southeast Division. The team plays its home games at State Farm Arena.

The star players on the Atlanta Hawks are Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, Danilo Gallinari, Clint Capela, and Bogdan Bogdanovic. The head coach of the Atlanta Hawks is Nate McMillan.

The regular season roster is significant for betting because it gives bettors an idea of which players will be starting for the team. It is important because the starters are usually the better players on the team and have a greater impact on the game. Therefore, bettors can make more informed decisions when placing their bets by knowing who the starters are. In addition, the regular season roster can give bettors an idea of how well a team is likely to perform.

For example, if a team has several rookies or inexperienced players, they may not be as strong as a team with more experienced players. As a result, bettors need to consider the quality of the players on a team's roster when making their bets.

Who are the Atlanta Hawks roster?

1. Trae Young

Rayford Trae Young is an American professional basketball player who, at only 24 years old, already plays for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Before his current occupation, he played college basketball for the Oklahoma Sooners. Standing at 6 ft 1 in and weighing 164 lb, Young has achieved great feats in his young life.

In 2017, Young tied the then-record for NCAA Division I single-game assists with 22. It made him the only player to lead the NCAA in both points and assists within a single season. The Dallas Mavericks drafted Young in the 2018 NBA draft with the fifth pick. However, trade talks shortly began. He was eventually traded to the Atlanta Hawks along with a future first-round pick in exchange for Doncic's draft rights. He joined Doncic later that year as they were both selected unanimously to the 2019 NBA All-Rookie First Team. As of 2021, Young is a two-time NBA All-Star.

On August 3, 2021, Young agreed to a five-year extension with the Hawks. The contract is worth up to $172 million and possibly $207 million.

2. Dejounte Murray

The 26-year-old American professional basketball player, Dejounte Dashaun Murray, who currently plays for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA), is six ft., five in., and 180 lb. He played one season of college basketball for the Washington Huskies. In his first and only year playing collegiately, he was named to the second-team all-conference honors in the Pac-12 as a freshman in 2015–16.

In 2016, the San Antonio Spurs selected him in the first round of the NBA draft with the 29th overall pick. In 2022, he was named to his first All-Star Game and led the league in steals. He plays for the Hawks and will receive over $34 million during his two seasons there.

3. John Collins

John Collins is a 25-year-old professional basketball player from America. He plays for the Atlanta Hawks as part of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Prior to his NBA career, Collins played college basketball for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. He is 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 103 kilograms.

In 2017, the Hawks chose Collins with the 19th pick in the NBA draft. On August 6, 2021, the Atlanta Hawks signed Collins to a five-year contract worth $125 million.

On November 5, 2019, the NBA suspended Collins without pay for 25 games due to his violating the league's anti-drug policy. He tested positive for pralmorelin, a growth hormone-releasing peptide 2 (GHRP-2). However, on December 23, 2019, following his return from suspension, he played in a game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. He scored 27 points while also grabbing ten rebounds. Unfortunately, they still lost 121–118.

4. Clint Capela

Clint Capela is a 28-year-old Swiss professional basketball player. He holds the record for the Atlanta Hawks in career field goal percentage. He led the NBA in that same stat during the 2017 to 2018 season. He also earns more money than any other team athlete in Switzerland's history; his current salary is $18,706,896.

Capela, who is 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m) and weighs 256 lb (116 kg), originally played basketball because his brother suggested he switch sports when he was 13. After meeting Swiss basketball icon Thabo Sefolosha, Capela became increasingly interested in the sport. At 15 years old, he joined the Chalon-sur-Saône training center, INSEP, in France after being spotted at the European Junior Championships with the Swiss team.

5. Bogdan Bogdanovic

Bogdan Bogdanovic (30 years old) is an experienced Serbian professional basketball player who plays for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is also a member of the Serbian national basketball team. He is a formidable presence on the court at 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m) and 225 lb (102 kg).

The Phoenix Suns originally drafted him in 2014 as the 27th overall pick. However, during the 2016 NBA draft, his rights were traded to the Sacramento Kings. In 2017, Bogdanovic achieved two recognitions: an All-EuroLeague First Team selection and a EuroBasket All-Tournament Team selection. Furthermore, he was selected for the EuroLeague 2010–20 All-Decade Team.

On November 24, 2020, Bogdanovic signed a four-year contract with the Atlanta Hawks amounting to $72 million. However, after the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season, Bogdanovic had to undergo surgery for his right knee and was sidelined for at least three months.

6. Frank Kaminsky

Francis Stanley Kaminsky III, better known as "Frank the Tank," is a 29-year-old professional basketball player who currently plays center for the Atlanta Hawks. Standing 7 feet tall and weighing 240 pounds, Frank was one of Wisconsin's best players during his days with the Badgers.

Kaminsky scored an impressive 43 points in a single game during his college basketball career at Wisconsin, earning him the title of unanimous men's National College Player of the Year in 2015. He was then drafted ninth overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the NBA draft that same year. Kaminsky played with Charlotte for four seasons before signing with Phoenix Suns as a free agent in July 2019. With the Suns, he helped lead them to their first-ever NBA Finals appearance in 2021.

Kaminsky will earn $2,463,490 for one year after signing with the Atlanta Hawks on July 12, 2022.

7. Justin Alaric

Justin Alaric Holiday, 33, is an American professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college ball for the Washington Huskies. In 2015, Justin captured an NBA championship with the then-team Golden State Warriors. At 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, he is a formidable figure on the court.

On July 9, 2015, Holiday signed a multi-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks. On October 29 that same year, he made his season debut in a 112–101 win over the New York Knicks, recording two points in 13 minutes off the bench. On July 6, 2022, Maurice Harkless and Holiday were traded back to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for Kevin Huerter. As part of the deal, Harkless received a $6 million salary.

8. Aaron Holiday

The 26-year-old American guard, Aaron Shawn Holiday, currently plays professional basketball for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He formerly played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins and earned All-American recognition. In 2018, he was drafted into the NBA by the Indiana Pacers as their 23rd overall pick in the first round.

When Holiday was in high school, he ranked among the top players nationally while playing in Los Angeles. He became a starter as a freshman during the 2015-2016 season before leading the Bruins' reserves the next year. He returned to the starting lineup as the point guard in his junior year, for which he was named a third-team All-American. In addition, he received first-team all-conference and all-defensive honors in the Pac=12. Holiday played three seasons for Indiana before being traded to Washington Wizards and, later, Phoenix Suns. By the way, Holiday is not alone in his NBA aspirations--his brothers Jrue and Justin are also playing right now in the NBA.

On July 6, 2022, the Atlanta Hawks gave Holiday a $1,968,175 contract.

9. De'Andre Hunter

De'Andre James Hunter is an American professional basketball player 24 years old, who plays for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He received his college education at Virginia Cavaliers and was named North American Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. Despite being a high school recruit ranked outside the top 100, Hunter scored 27 points in the 2019 NCAA Championship game. As a result of this great performance, he became an NBA lottery pick after his sophomore season. He is 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 221 pounds.

Hunter was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers on June 20, 2019, as the fourth overall pick in the NBA draft. Hunter was then traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of a trade for Anthony Davis. Lastly, Solomon Hill and Hunter were traded to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for three different picks in the NBA draft. The Atlanta Hawks announced on July 7, 2019, that they had signed Hunter to a four-year contract with an annual salary of $32,101,641.

Okongwu was a four-year starter at Chino Hills High School in California, playing alongside Lonzo and LaMelo Ball. He was a key player in his team's state championship victory and national success as a freshman, for which he received the MaxPreps co-National Freshman of the Year award. Okongwu led Chino Hills to two state titles in his junior and senior seasons. He was rewarded with back-to-back 'California Mr. Basketball' honors. He was called a five-star recruit by ESPN and Rivals and only played one season of college ball at USC before being named to the first-team All-Pac-12.

The Atlanta Hawks chose Okongwu as the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft. On November 24, 2020, the Atlanta Hawks claimed they had signed Okongwu to a four-year / $26,422,143 contract. What is the best Atlanta Hawks roster of all time?

The 1958 roster was the best Atlanta Hawks roster of all time. This team made it to the NBA Finals and won against the Boston Celtics. Led by Bob Pettit, Cliff Hagan, Clyde Lovellette, Lenny Wilkens, and Slater Martin, the Hawks were able to come away with a victory in one of the most tightly contested series in NBA history. While the team has had some success since then, they have never been able to match the achievements of that 1958 squad.
