How to Bet on FanDuel: Sign-Up, Betslip and Withdrawals

To bet on FanDuel, you sign up in the app or on the website, verify your identity, deposit, then tap a price to add it to your betslip and confirm the stake. You must be 21 or older (18 in Washington, D.C.) and physically inside a state where FanDuel Sportsbook takes bets, FanDuel says.

This guide walks through each step, the bets you will find in the app, how deposits and withdrawals work, and what to check before your first bet. Everything about FanDuel below is from FanDuel’s own pages, read on 25 September 2026.

Where FanDuel Sportsbook takes bets

FanDuel lists 24 states where sports betting is legal and its sportsbook offers odds on all its markets: Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wyoming.

In the other states on its list, FanDuel says customers see prediction markets in the app instead of a sportsbook. What counts is the state you are in when you bet: the app asks you to select the state where you are physically located when you first open it.

Step by step: your first bet on FanDuel

  • Get the app or go to the site. FanDuel Sportsbook has Apple and Android apps, and the same sportsbook runs online at FanDuel.
  • Pick your state and join. Choose the state you are in, then create your account.
  • Verify your identity. FanDuel says this takes under two minutes. It is how a licensed book confirms your age and location.
  • Deposit. Link a payment method and make your first deposit. FanDuel says the first real-money bet after that deposit is the one that qualifies for its sign-up offers.
  • Build a betslip. Go to the sport and the game and tap the price you want to add it to your betslip. The odds on the slip update as you add selections.
  • Place it. Enter your stake and confirm the bet.

The bets you will find

FanDuel’s sportsbook lists moneylines, spreads, totals, teasers, futures, partial-game odds, props and parlays, including its Same Game Parlay, which combines bets from one game on one ticket.

A parlay pays more because every leg has to win. That also means each leg’s margin stacks up in the price, so a long parlay is a long shot however safe the legs look. The app’s Parlay Hub and parlay builders make these quick to put together; that is not the same as making them good bets.

Live betting runs during the game, with prices that move with the score and clock. If you are new, bet a few games before the start first, where you have time to read the price.

Deposits, withdrawals and offers

FanDuel says you can withdraw through PayPal, a prepaid card, check, Venmo (U.S. only) and online banking, and that some states limit which options are open. The app’s withdrawal screen shows what works in your state.

Welcome offers change often and differ by state. FanDuel’s own pages carried more than one version on the day we read them, so check the offer and its terms in the app before you deposit.

Before your first bet

Read the price as a probability. At -110, you are paying $110 to win $100, and you need to win 52.4% of bets like that to break even. At +150, a $10 bet wins $15, and the price implies a 40% chance.

Set a budget for the month and a fixed stake per bet before you open the app, and keep to it. FanDuel points to its tools for staying in control at fanduel.com/playwithaplan.
