Our number has Georgia by 6.3. At +14, take Oklahoma.
No. 2 Georgia opened as a 10-point favourite over Oklahoma at DraftKings and is 14 now. Our number is Georgia by 6.3. The gap is 7.7 points, and the threshold for a bet here is 3.
How the number is built
The method is one clause: our number is half the difference between the home team’s average margin at home and the visitor’s average margin on the road, against FBS teams only, 2025 and 2026 together.
Georgia is 6-1 at home against FBS teams over that span, winning by 24.4 points a game across 7 games. Oklahoma is 4-1 on the road against FBS teams, winning by 11.8 a game across 5 games. The difference is 12.6 points. Half of it is 6.3.
Both samples are thin. Seven and five games is what there is, and only one game in each comes from 2026: Georgia’s 70-20 win over Western Kentucky, and Oklahoma’s 17-10 loss at Michigan.
Oklahoma on the road
The spread asks whether Georgia wins by 15 or more. In its 5 road games against FBS teams, Oklahoma has not lost by more than 7.
The four wins, all in 2025, were 42-3 at Temple, 26-7 at South Carolina, 33-27 at Tennessee and 23-21 at Alabama. The loss was the 17-10 game at Michigan on 12 September.
Georgia’s home margins are the other side of it, and they are large. It won by 15 or more in 5 of its 7 home games against FBS teams. The one loss was 24-21 to Alabama in 2025. The method averages the two, and the average lands at 6.3.
2026 so far
Georgia is 3-0: 63-3 over Tennessee State, a team outside the FBS, 70-20 over Western Kentucky, and 45-17 at Arkansas on 19 September. Against its two FBS opponents it has scored 57.5 a game and allowed 18.5.
Oklahoma is 2-1 and has allowed 7.7 points a game. It has also scored 25.0 a game, and 10 and 14 in its last two: the loss at Michigan, then a 14-6 win over New Mexico. The opener was 51-0 over UTEP.
This is an SEC game. Georgia is 1-0 in the conference; Oklahoma has not played an SEC game this season.
Last season
Georgia went 12-2 in 2025 and won by 14.5 a game. Oklahoma went 10-3 and won by 10.8 a game, and went 4-0 on the road.
Georgia’s 2025 ended with a 39-34 loss to Ole Miss on 1 January 2026, at a neutral site. Oklahoma’s ended with a 34-24 home loss to Alabama on 19 December. The two teams did not meet in that span.
The price
Georgia opened at -10 and is -14 now, read 23 September 2026 at 08:59 UTC at DraftKings via ESPN. That is a 4-point move toward Georgia. Both sides of the spread are priced at -110.
The moneyline has Georgia at -575 and Oklahoma at +425, from -395 and +310 at the open. With the margin removed, that prices Georgia to win 81.7% of the time. ESPN’s FPI has Georgia at 83.4%.
Georgia is the likelier winner by both measures, and by ours. The disagreement is 7.7 points of margin.
Pick: Oklahoma +14
Oklahoma +14 at -110. The gap is 7.7 points against a 3-point threshold.
It rests on 12 games, split 7 and 5. The four points of movement since the open are what turned a gap of 3.7 into 7.7.
What changes it
A line move back toward the open. At Oklahoma +9.5 the gap is 3.2 and the bet stands. At +9 it is 2.7, and the call becomes a pass.
Availability is the other thing, and this page does not state it. Check the injury report before you bet.
The call on 16 September
The first version of this prediction, published 16 September, said:
“Oklahoma scored 10 at Michigan. I’ll lay the 10 with Georgia.”
“Pick: Georgia -10”
“Price discipline: a bet at -10 or better. At -11 it is a pass.”
By its own condition, that call no longer stands. Georgia is -14, three points past -11, the price at which it said pass.
The call is now on the other side, for two reasons. The price has moved 4 points toward Georgia. And the method on this page measures both teams over 2025 and 2026, where the old call rested on Oklahoma’s 10 points at Michigan. On that measure Georgia wins this game by 6.3, and 14 is too many.
The total
The total opened at 52.5 and is 44.5 now, over -115 and under -105. That is an 8-point drop, as read at DraftKings.
Against FBS teams across 2025 and 2026, Georgia’s games went over 44.5 in 10 of 15, and Oklahoma’s in 5 of 15. The two teams pull in opposite directions. Oklahoma’s three games this season produced 51, 27 and 20 points; Georgia’s two against FBS teams produced 90 and 62.
Pass on the total at 44.5. The two samples cancel out.
