Golf picks this week center on the VidantaWorld Mexico Open, with the PGA Tour returning to Vidanta Vallarta from October 29 through November 1. Tom Kim is our preferred PGA Tour outright at +1750 or better, while Wyndham Clark deserves favorite status but asks bettors to accept a much shorter return.
The LPGA Tour also plays the Maybank Championship in Kuala Lumpur, where Hye-Jin Choi enters with consecutive runner-up finishes and another runner-up at this tournament last year. She is our secondary golf pick at +1000.
This week’s golf odds and predictions also include the Simmons Bank Championship on the PGA Tour Champions. We are not forcing an outright there, however. Steven Alker is the strongest course-and-form candidate, but the current favorite price is considerably tighter than our two preferred selections.

VidantaWorld Mexico Open Odds 2026
The 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open is played at Vidanta Vallarta, a par-71 layout measuring 7,337 yards. The tournament offers a $6 million purse and 500 FedExCup Fall points to the winner. Brian Campbell returns as defending champion after winning the 2025 edition at 20-under.
Vidanta has historically allowed plenty of birdies, but its length still rewards players capable of creating opportunities with longer clubs. The Paspalum surfaces and resort-style setup also make approach proximity and converting birdie chances important over four rounds.
The market was not identical across every board on October 27, so the table below uses observed pre-tournament ranges instead of pretending one number represents every available price.

Clark’s +1200 price represents a break-even probability of about 7.69%. Tom Kim at +1800 needs approximately 5.26%, while +1750 requires about 5.41%. That pricing difference matters because the gap between the two golfers is not as large as their outright returns suggest.
Tom Kim vs. Wyndham Clark: Best PGA Tour Pick
Tom Kim +1750 or Better
Kim has produced three top-five finishes and seven top-20 results across his last ten PGA Tour starts. That stretch includes a victory at the Genesis Scottish Open, a third-place finish at the U.S. Open and a tied-fifth result at the Wyndham Championship.
His strongest statistical argument is approach play. Kim ranks seventh on Tour in Strokes Gained: Approach the Green at approximately +0.653 per round and tenth in bogey avoidance.
That profile fits a tournament where the winning score reached 20-under last year. Kim has already demonstrated an ability to win low-scoring PGA Tour events, and three of his four career Tour victories have required 20-under or better.
The main concern is course experience. Kim has not played this event during the last five seasons, and his driving distance is closer to the middle of the Tour than the elite end. Vidanta’s length could create stretches where more powerful players have shorter approaches.
At +1750 or longer, the combination of iron play, birdie-making ability and proven winning experience makes Kim our preferred outright. Below that number, the pricing advantage becomes less convincing.
Wyndham Clark +1125 to +1200
Clark deserves to be the favorite. He has won three times during the 2026 PGA Tour season, including the U.S. Open and BMW Championship, and sits fifth in the Official World Golf Ranking entering the week.
His season-long numbers are strong across multiple categories. Clark ranks eighth in Strokes Gained: Total, 25th on approach and 21st in putting. He also averages more than 312 yards off the tee, an obvious advantage on a course stretching beyond 7,300 yards.
His recent strokes-gained form has cooled, however. Over his last five starts, his overall advantage has been much smaller than his season-long number, and he has not played competitively since the Tour Championship in August.
Clark also has only modest Vidanta results, finishing tied for 67th in 2022 and tied for 24th in 2023. He absolutely can overpower this course, but +1125 to +1200 requires bettors to pay heavily for his talent and 2026 résumé.
He is the golfer we rate as the most likely winner, but probability and betting value are different questions. The shorter price is enough for us to prefer Kim.

Mexico Open Value Picks to Watch
Corey Conners +2500 to +2700
Conners arrives in excellent immediate form after tying for third at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. Across his last five starts, he has gained approximately 0.536 strokes per round off the tee and 0.404 strokes overall.
His approach play remains a dependable strength, but putting is the obvious risk. Conners ranks outside the top 130 on Tour in Strokes Gained: Putting, which is dangerous in an event where converting birdie opportunities is usually essential.
The +2500 to +2700 range makes him worth considering as an alternative rather than a second mandatory outright. If his putter remains merely neutral, the quality of his ball-striking can keep him in contention.
Ben James +1850 to +2000
James missed the cut in Bermuda, but one poor week should not erase a run that included second at the Biltmore Championship Asheville, tied fifth at the Bank of Utah Championship and third at the Wyndham Championship.
He also finished tied for fourth at the 2026 Corales Puntacana Championship, another resort event where aggressive scoring was rewarded. Our Corales Puntacana Championship analysis provides more context on that performance.
James has the talent to contend, but this will be his first recent appearance at Vidanta. At a price close to Kim’s, we prefer the player who has already converted multiple PGA Tour victories.
Maybank Championship Odds and LPGA Pick
The LPGA Tour continues its Asian swing at the Maybank Championship from October 29 through November 1. Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club’s West Course plays to a par 72 at approximately 6,536 yards, with a $3 million purse.
Miyu Yamashita is the defending champion after winning a three-way playoff at 18-under in 2025. Hye-Jin Choi and Hannah Green were the two players she defeated, which gives Choi particularly relevant course evidence entering this week’s tournament.

Hye-Jin Choi +1000
Choi enters Kuala Lumpur after finishing runner-up in consecutive LPGA events. She was second to Ruoning Yin in Shanghai and then tied for second at the BMW Ladies Championship on October 25.
Her BMW performance was supported by strong ball-striking. She finished the week among the leaders in birdies and greens in regulation, continuing a season in which approach play has been one of her biggest strengths.
The course-history argument is equally important. Choi finished 18-under at the 2025 Maybank Championship and reached the playoff before Yamashita won on the first extra hole.
At +1000, Choi carries a 9.09% break-even probability. That is still a demanding outright number, but her combination of current form and direct course evidence is considerably stronger than a speculative longshot case.
Why Not Yamashita at +500?
Yamashita deserves favorite status. She won this tournament last year and enters as one of the strongest players in the field.
The issue is the price. +500 requires a break-even probability of approximately 16.67%, an aggressive threshold in a strong LPGA field containing several players capable of winning a low-scoring event.
Choi offers roughly double the potential return while bringing nearly identical 2025 course evidence and superior immediate form following two straight runner-up finishes.
That does not make Choi more likely to win than Yamashita. It simply creates the more attractive betting proposition at the October 27 numbers.

PGA Tour Champions: Simmons Bank Championship
The PGA Tour Champions plays the Simmons Bank Championship from October 30 through November 1 at Pleasant Valley Country Club in Little Rock, Arkansas. The 54-player field represents the second event of the Charles Schwab Cup Playoffs, with only the top 36 advancing to the season finale.
Steven Alker is the market favorite around +550 to +600, and the case is obvious. He won this tournament by seven strokes in 2025, finished tied for third at last week’s Stifel Charity Classic and owns four victories during the 2026 season.
Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson are also clustered near the top of the market. They rank first and second in the Charles Schwab Cup standings and have combined for 11 victories this year, which helps explain why the outright board is so compressed.
Our decision is to pass on a PGA Tour Champions outright before the opening round. Alker is the golfer we trust most, but +550 to +600 does not provide the same price cushion as Kim or Choi. There is no reason to manufacture a third bet simply because another tournament is available.

Final PGA Tour Pick: Tom Kim to win the VidantaWorld Mexico Open at +1750 or better. His approach numbers, recent high finishes and ability to win birdie-heavy tournaments provide enough upside to prefer his price over Clark's.
Final LPGA Pick: Hye-Jin Choi to win the Maybank Championship at +1000. Her two consecutive runner-up finishes and playoff appearance at this course last year make her the strongest secondary selection on this week's card.
