The 2027 Tour de France starts in Edinburgh on Friday, July 2, the first time the race has begun in Scotland. Tadej Pogačar won the 2026 Tour for his fifth yellow jersey, tying the record held by Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault and Miguel Indurain.

Stage 1 has one categorized climb and a flat run into Carlisle, and the organizer names it as one that could suit the sprinters and hand one of them the first yellow jersey. Stage 2 carries five climbs for the mountains classification. Stage 3 is built to test the team leaders: the Côte de Caerffili, 2 km at 8.1%, comes 12 km from the finish in Cardiff.
How the 2026 Tour finished
The 2026 Tour ran from July 4 to July 26, starting in Barcelona and covering 3,197 km. Pogačar finished in 73 hours, 56 minutes and 26 seconds.

Pogačar’s earlier wins came in 2020, 2021, 2024 and 2025. Jonas Vingegaard, the 2022 and 2023 winner, crashed out on Stage 15, 24 km from the finish at Plateau de Solaison, with his right arm in a sling.
The jerseys went to three other riders:
- Green (points): Mads Pedersen, Lidl-Trek, with 559 points, the first Dane to win it
- Polka dot (mountains): Richard Carapaz, EF Education-EasyPost, with 156 points; he also took the Super Combativity award
- White (young rider): Isaac del Toro, third overall
Mathieu van der Poel won the final stage in Paris, holding off his teammate Jasper Philipsen in the sprint.

No price on the 2027 Tour is quoted here. As of September 24, 2026, we have no market we can source and date, and the full route has not been presented.
When a winner market is posted, read each price as a chance: -400 is priced at 80%, +400 at 20%, +2000 at about 4.8%. A futures bet this far out is worth making only when you rate the rider’s chance higher than the price does. Nine months is a long time in cycling: Vingegaard’s 2026 Tour ended in one crash on Stage 15.
Pogačar has now won five of the last seven Tours. A sixth would be a record.
