How the number is built
The method is one clause: our number is half the difference between the home team’s average margin at home and the visitor’s average margin on the road, against FBS teams only, 2025 and 2026 together.

One game is the whole Stonehill sample
Stonehill plays outside the FBS, so the method has almost nothing to go on for this side. It played no FBS team in 2025. Its one FBS game is the 36-14 loss at Massachusetts on 19 September, and one game proves little.
Its other three games this season came against teams outside the FBS. It lost 24-6 to Bryant at home, won 21-3 at New Haven and lost 42-35 at New Hampshire. It is 1-3, has scored 19.0 a game and allowed 26.2.
That is why this page makes no bet. Our number is built on one 22-point loss, set against a 34.5-point spread, and one game cannot price that.

Ohio has won all six of its home games against FBS teams in 2025 and 2026. The margins were 7 over West Virginia, 15 over Bowling Green, 27 over Northern Illinois, 4 over Miami (OH), 28 over Massachusetts and 2 over Jacksonville State on 12 September.
The largest of the six is 28. The spread asks for 35.
The two teams share one opponent. Ohio beat Massachusetts 42-14 at home on 18 November 2025; Stonehill lost 36-14 at Massachusetts this season. Different venues and different seasons: treat it as a comparison only.
2026 so far
Ohio is 1-2, all three against FBS teams. It lost 49-21 at Nebraska, beat Jacksonville State 29-27 and lost 41-36 at South Alabama on 19 September. It has scored 28.7 a game and allowed 39.0.
