The latest AFC East Odds make Buffalo a narrow favorite over New England. The market has separated those teams completely from the Jets and Dolphins.

Buffalo is available around -130, with New England close behind at +130. The Jets are approximately +2000, while Miami owns the longest price in the division near +4000.

The win totals tell the same story. Buffalo is set at 10.5 and New England at 9.5. New York sits at 5.5, while Miami has dropped to only 4.5 victories.

Buffalo may have the highest single-team probability of winning the division, but the difference between the Bills and Patriots is smaller than the market suggests. New England’s plus-money payout creates the stronger futures position.

2025 AFC East Standings

New England completed one of the NFL’s most dramatic turnarounds in 2025. The Patriots improved from consecutive 4-13 seasons to 14-3, won the AFC East and advanced to Super Bowl LX.

Buffalo remained an elite regular-season team at 12-5 but finished two games behind the Patriots. The Bills entered the playoffs as a Wild Card team before losing to Denver in overtime during the Divisional Round.

Miami finished 7-10 with a negative point differential. The Jets went 3-14, lost every division game and allowed 503 points.

The Patriots did not simply win close games. They produced the division’s best scoring margin, went 8-0 on the road and became the only AFC East team to reach the conference championship.

Major AFC East Offseason Changes

Every team enters 2026 with a meaningful change at quarterback, head coach or offensive personnel.

Buffalo promoted Joe Brady from offensive coordinator to head coach and hired Jim Leonhard to install a new defensive system. The Bills also traded for Moore to give Allen a proven outside receiver.

New England acquired Brown after moving on from Stefon Diggs. The Patriots also added offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker, receiver Romeo Doubs and veteran safety Kevin Byard.

The Jets brought Geno Smith back to the franchise and used the second overall draft pick on edge rusher David Bailey. Miami hired Jeff Hafley and signed Malik Willis to lead a younger roster.

AFC East Favorites

The division market is correctly focused on Buffalo and New England. Both teams have an elite quarterback, postseason experience and enough roster strength to win at least 10 games.

The difference is price. Buffalo requires bettors to lay odds during a coaching transition. New England offers plus money after winning the division by two games and improving its receiving corps.

Buffalo Bills Outlook

Buffalo remains the safest AFC East contender because Allen provides the highest floor in the division.

The Bills ranked fourth in scoring and total offense last season while leading the NFL in rushing yards per game. Brady’s promotion should preserve the system that produced those results.

Moore gives Allen a durable receiver capable of defeating man coverage and producing yards after the catch. He joins Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman and Josh Palmer in a deeper passing group.

The concern is defense. Buffalo hired Leonhard after another postseason ended with the opponent scoring more than 30 points. The unit must adjust to new personnel and a new front without sacrificing early-season games.

The schedule creates another problem. Buffalo faces Houston, Detroit, the Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore, Minnesota, Kansas City, Green Bay, Chicago and Denver outside the division.

The Bills can win the AFC East at 10-7, but that same projection makes the under 10.5 more attractive than laying -130 on the division future.

Buffalo Prediction: 10-7, second in the AFC East and an AFC Wild Card team.

New England Patriots Outlook

New England is the preferred AFC East bet at +130 or better.

Maye completed 72 percent of his passes for 4,394 yards, 31 touchdowns and only eight interceptions last season. He led the NFL in passer rating, completion percentage and yards per attempt before finishing second in MVP voting.

Brown gives Maye a true No. 1 receiver who has surpassed 1,000 yards in six of seven NFL seasons. Doubs adds another reliable target, while Vera-Tucker should strengthen the protection.

Mike Vrabel also has an established defensive foundation with Christian Gonzalez, Craig Woodson and several veteran additions. New England does not need to repeat its 14-win season to defend the division.

The schedule is much harder than last year. The Patriots play at Seattle, Jacksonville, Buffalo, Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Kansas City and New York. They also face Detroit in Munich and host Green Bay, Minnesota and Denver.

That schedule should create regular-season regression, but 11 wins remain realistic. New England can lose three more games than it did last season and still finish above its current total.

New England Prediction: 11-6 and a second consecutive AFC East championship.

New York Jets Outlook

The Jets should improve from 3-14, but the market may be asking for one victory too many with a total of 5.5.

Smith brings more passing experience than the Jets had last season. He also threw 17 interceptions for Las Vegas, creating concern behind an offense still searching for a dependable second option alongside Garrett Wilson.

Bailey gives the defense a potential difference-maker after producing 14.5 sacks during his final college season. The Jets also have Breece Hall, Wilson and young players capable of creating an occasional upset.

The problem is schedule density. New York faces Green Bay, Detroit, Chicago, Kansas City, the Chargers, Denver and Minnesota in addition to four games against Buffalo and New England.

A defensive improvement can make the Jets more competitive without lifting them above six victories.

Jets Prediction: 5-12 and third in the division.

Miami Dolphins Outlook

Miami owns the division’s longest odds because the organization is prioritizing long-term flexibility over immediate contention.

Willis has excellent physical tools and produced efficient results during limited opportunities in Green Bay. He has started only six NFL games, making a full season one of the league’s largest quarterback projections.

De’Von Achane remains the offense’s most dangerous player. Miami also extended center Aaron Brewer and linebacker Jordyn Brooks, giving Hafley several reliable building blocks.

The roster lacks the established receiving depth and quarterback certainty required to compete with Buffalo and New England. Miami also faces Kansas City, San Francisco, Detroit, Minnesota, Indianapolis and Denver.

The +4000 division price is large for a reason. Miami needs Willis to become a quality starter immediately while both favorites suffer major regression.

Miami Prediction: 4-13 and fourth in the AFC East.

AFC East Win Total Picks

New England over 9.5 is the preferred standard win-total selection. The Patriots can decline by four victories and still reach double digits.

Buffalo under 10.5 is the best plus-money angle. The prediction is not based on a major collapse. A 10-7 finish would still make Buffalo a dangerous playoff team while cashing the under.

The Jets under 5.5 is the best divisional fade. New York improved its defense and quarterback room, but its schedule contains too many opponents with major advantages at quarterback.

Miami under 4.5 is playable but less attractive. A total that low leaves almost no margin for Willis outperforming expectations or the Dolphins winning several close games.

The NFL also placed both remaining division games in Week 18. Miami visits New England, while the Jets travel to Buffalo.

Recent AFC East Champions

New England ended Buffalo’s five-year division run by winning the 2025 AFC East title.

The Bills won every division championship from 2020 through 2024. Before that run, New England captured 11 consecutive titles from 2009 through 2019.

Miami has not won the AFC East since 2008. The Jets have the longest drought, with their most recent division championship coming in 2002.

Buffalo or New England has now won the AFC East in 23 of the last 25 completed seasons. The 2026 market gives little reason to expect that trend to end.

Final AFC East Predictions

New England is predicted to defend the division at 11-6. The Patriots have the more stable coaching situation, the reigning AFC champion roster and the strongest value at plus money.

Buffalo is projected to finish 10-7 and earn a Wild Card position. Allen keeps the Bills among the AFC’s best teams, but the schedule and coaching transition make 11 victories difficult.

The Jets should improve to 5-12 without becoming a realistic playoff contender. Miami is projected to finish 4-13 during Hafley’s first season.

There is no compelling longshot division bet. New York and Miami require too many simultaneous failures from teams with Allen and Maye at quarterback.
