Squid Game is over: its third and final season arrived on Netflix on June 27, 2025, and the winner of the last game was Player 222, the baby of Jun-hee, after Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) gave his life so she could live. Season 2 had ended with no winner at all, on a failed rebellion that the Front Man crushed from inside the game.
Netflix calls Season 3 the show’s final season, so there is nothing left to bet on it. This page keeps the Season 2 props it published as the record, with how each one turned out where Netflix’s own recaps settle it.
How Season 2 ended
Gi-hun went back into the games as Player 456 and led an armed rebellion against the people running them, Netflix’s Tudum recap says. The rebels nearly reached the control center. The Front Man, who had entered the games himself as Player 001 under the name Young-il, turned on them, and the uprising failed.
He then shot Gi-hun’s friend Jung-bae in front of him. Season 2 closes there, with the games unfinished and no one declared the winner.
How the series ended in Season 3
The last game was Sky Squid Game, played across three towers. On the final tower only Gi-hun, Myung-gi (Player 333) and the baby were left. Myung-gi died in a knife fight with Gi-hun, but nobody had pressed the button that starts the round, so his death did not count.
That left Gi-hun and the baby. He chose to end his own life so that she would live and win. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk told Tudum that “the baby coming out [as] the winner was in line with the meaning of Squid Game.”
