“He’s a game-changer, whether it’s on the mound or at the plate,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said postgame.
Los Angeles ranks 2nd in MLB in both slugging percentage and home runs, led by Ohtani and Freddie Freeman. If the lineup stays hot and Ohtani limits mistakes on the mound, the Dodgers have the firepower to rebound.
Pirates Can Win If…
Braxton Ashcraft keeps rolling and the offense stays disciplined. Ashcraft has been excellent this season with a 2.58 ERA, and Pittsburgh’s staff ranks 12th in team ERA (3.91). If Ashcraft can neutralize the Dodgers’ sluggers, the Pirates will be in position to win.
