Philadelphia vs. Toronto Recap FEB 23TH 2021

Kawhi Leonard hit a buzzer-beating jump shot that bounced up and around the rim before finally dropping through the net, and the Toronto Raptors defeated the visiting Philadelphia 76ers 92-90 on Sunday night in the seventh and deciding game of their Eastern Conference semifinal.

Leonard finished with 41 points and eight rebounds and winning shot came after Jimmy Butler had tied the game on a layup with 4.2 seconds remaining.

Teammates swarmed Leonard along the baseline after his fall-away shot from the right corner. He let out a scream as fans danced in the stands.

Toronto advanced to face the Milwaukee Bucks in the conference final. The Raptors are seeking their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history.

Leonard hit a 24-foot jumper with 1:42 to play to give Toronto an 87-85 lead.

The Raptors led by four with 1:14 to play on a steal by Kyle Lowry, who set up Pascal Siakam for the layup.

Butler made one of two free throws, cutting the lead to three. With 12.1 seconds to play, Embiid made two free throws to trim the lead to one.

Leonard made one of two free throws with 10.8 seconds remaining, and Butler tied the score at 90 on his layup.

Serge Ibaka provided 17 points and eight rebounds for the Raptors. Siakam had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Kyle Lowry, who had an injured thumb taped in the first half, had 10 points, and Marc Gasol added seven points and 11 rebounds.

Joel Embiid had 21 points and 11 rebounds for the 76ers. JJ Redick scored 17 points, Butler added 16, Tobias Harris scored 15 and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Ben Simmons finished with 13 points.

After the Raptors took a five-point in the fourth quarter on Ibaka's 3-pointer, Embiid's 3-pointer put the 76ers ahead by one point with 7:37 left.

The Raptors took a five-point lead on Leonard's floating jumper and a free throw with 4:48 to go

But Redick nailed a jumper and hit the free throw to tie the game at 85 with 3:29 remaining.

The Raptors led 18-13 after one quarter and 44-40 at halftime.

Tobias Harris had 12 his 23 points in the fourth quarter as the visiting Philadelphia 76ers held on to defeat the Toronto Raptors 109-102 Tuesday night at Tampa.

Philadelphia's Joel Embiid added 18 points and 12 rebounds to end a streak of 14 straight games in which he had scored at least 25 points.

Furkan Korkmaz scored 16 of his season-best 19 points in the first quarter for the 76ers, who ended a string of 16 straight regular-season road losses to Toronto. Ben Simmons added 15 points and Shake Milton and Danny Green each scored 11.

The 76ers gained a split in the two-game set and stopped the Raptors' winning streak at four games. Philadelphia has won two of three against Toronto.

Norman Powell had 24 points for the Raptors and Pascal Siakam added 22. Fred VanVleet had 12 points, Aron Baynes had 11 and Chris Boucher and OG Anunoby each scored 10 points.

The 76ers, who led by as many as 21 points in the second quarter, took a 14-point lead into the fourth quarter.

Simmons started the fourth with a jumper that bumped the lead to 16. The Raptors trimmed the lead to six on Boucher's 3-pointer with 5:07 left.

Philadelphia responded with seven straight points. Embiid scored on a tip in and then made two free throws to stretch the lead to 15 points with 1:41 to play.

The Raptors made another run to cut the lead to six on Siakam's dunk with 21.6 to play.

The 76ers led 37-18 after the first quarter.

The lead reached 21 on a layup by Harris with 5:33 left in the second quarter. Toronto pulled back to within 11 points after an 8-0 run capped by Powell's dunk with 1:24 to go. Philadelphia led 55-42 at halftime.

Powell's jumper cut the lead to six points with 7:12 to play in the third quarter. The 76ers came back to take a 14-point lead on Korkmaz's 3-pointer with 3:56 remaining. The 76ers led 79-65 after the third quarter.

Seth Curry (ankle) did not play for Philadelphia and Kyle Lowry (thumb) was out for Toronto.
