Miami vs. Philadelphia Recap JAN 14TH 2021

Tobias Harris scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Ben Simmons scored 21 points and the host Philadelphia 76ers held off the Miami Heat 106-102 on Thursday.

Boban Marjanovic had 19 points and 12 rebounds for his fifth double-double this season while Jimmy Butler added 18 points. JJ Redick contributed 13 as the Sixers won without injured All-Star center Joel Embiid and reserve forward Furkan Korkmaz.

Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 19 points while Dion Waiters added 18 and Kelly Olynyk had 15.

Guard Goran Dragic, who appears to be getting close to return from a knee injury, was listed as inactive.

Marjanovic had a strong first quarter with 11 points and seven rebounds as the Sixers bolted to a 29-21 lead.

Wade kept the Heat close with 11 points as they trailed 57-50 at halftime.

The Sixers were led all half by Marjanovic, who knocked down all six of his shots and had 16 points and eight rebounds at the half.

The Heat committed only three turnovers but continued to put the Sixers on the-free throw line with fouls. The Sixers were 16 of 22 from the free throw line.

Hassan Whiteside made a short runner in the lane, and Olynyk knocked down a 3-pointer to tie the game at 61 with 7:30 left in the third.

Justise Winslow's short jumper with 4:30 left in the third gave the Heat a 69-65 advantage.

The Heat went ahead without forward James Johnson, who sustained a left shoulder injury and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Simmons scored eight straight points late in the third, but the Sixers were behind 75-73 at the end of the quarter.

Down 90-88, Redick and Harris each hit a 3-pointer and Simmons finished an alley-oop for a 96-90 Sixers lead with 5:01 left.

The Heat responded as Josh Richardson drained a trey from the top of the key to close within 96-95 with 3:39 remaining. Wade then made a turnaround jumper, and the Heat went back in front 97-96.

Redick's difficult, twisting 3-pointer with 1:04 left pushed the Sixers ahead 103-99, and they held on from there..

Shake Milton scored a season-high 31 points, Tobias Harris added 18 and the host Philadelphia 76ers had little trouble dispatching the depleted Miami Heat 125-108 on Thursday.

Ben Simmons bounced back from a subpar game Tuesday to post his 30th career triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. Simmons reached the milestone in just his 228th career game, as he became the third-fastest in NBA history -- behind Oscar Robertson (75 games) and Magic Johnson (190) -- to hit the mark.

Tyrese Maxey contributed 15 points and Danny Green and Isaiah Joe had 12 apiece for the Sixers, who also ousted the Heat two nights earlier.

Joel Embiid had only nine points and five rebounds in 24 minutes.

The Sixers received a big boost with the return of Milton, Harris and Matisse Thybulle (eight points, four steals) from contact tracing. Seth Curry still remains out.

Duncan Robinson led the Heat with 22 points, Gabe Vincent added 21 and Tyler Herro had 17. Precious Achiuwa had 10 points and 11 rebounds for his second straight double-double.

The Heat had only eight available players once again and remained without standouts such as Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic and Kendrick Nunn, among others.

The Sixers shot 65 percent and finished the first quarter on a 14-1 run to take a 38-30 lead.

Simmons threw down a dunk with 4:48 left in the second for a 61-47 advantage.

Milton hit his first six shots and had 19 by halftime, when Philadelphia led, 73-58

When Simmons capped an 8-0 run with an offensive rebound and dunk, the Sixers moved ahead 86-66 midway through the third. Green then followed with a 3-pointer and Harris added a dunk for a 25-point lead, 91-66.

Miami briefly cut the deficit to 15 early in the fourth.

But the Sixers quickly extended their advantage to 109-86 when Joe hit a deep 3-pointer with a little more than eight minutes remaining.

The 23-point lead was more than enough of a cushion to propel the Sixers to victory.

How Our Computer Picks System Works

Our software doesn't simulate sports results like our competitors, we track real bets.

We have exclusive access to a database with 10,000+ real bettors. Our software tracks all of these players in real-time.

Our proprietary algorithms then rank every handicapper in the database based on how well they perform by sport and bet type.

We have zero control on the picks released by our software. It's simply using algorithms to generate the sharpest sports picks with the most value (+EV).

Why Are There No Computer Picks?

Our AI system generates quality picks with a proven return on investment (ROI).

We believe in quality over quantity.

Some days, there may be zero AI picks, as our algorithms haven't generated any picks with enough value to be released .

We recommend not looking at the volume of bets released by our AI software, but look at the results and profits generated.
