Hawaii vs Arizona Picks and Predictions — August 30, 2025

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors look to ride momentum from their season-opening upset of Stanford into Tucson, where they face the Arizona Wildcats on Saturday night. Hawaii (1-0) is seeking its first road win over a power-conference opponent under Timmy Chang, while Arizona (0-0) tries to rebound from a disappointing 4–8 campaign in 2024.

Hawaii Can Win If…

QB Micah Alejado shows the same poise he did in Week 1. The sophomore completed 27 of 39 passes for 210 yards and 2 TDs while leading a last-minute drive to stun Stanford. Despite battling an ankle sprain in the second half, Alejado’s toughness impressed his teammates.

“I told the team before we came out, I would die for them, and I know they would die for me,” Alejado said.

If Hawaii’s defense can replicate its performance against Stanford and Alejado limits turnovers, the Warriors could keep things close into the fourth quarter.

Arizona Can Win If…

Noah Fifita gets comfortable quickly in new offensive coordinator Seth Doege’s system. Fifita has chemistry with star WR Tetairoa McMillan, and the Air Raid spread should showcase both players’ strengths.

“At this time in the world, the outside noise has never been louder,” coach Brent Brennan said. “For us, it’s really simple: How hard do you play? What’s your attitude? Are you a good teammate?”

Defensively, Arizona will need to improve after giving up 30+ points in six games last season. With 61 newcomers and major staff changes, the Wildcats’ cohesion will be tested.

Pick: Arizona -13.5
Projected Final Score: Arizona 34, Hawaii 20

Hawaii’s upset over Stanford was a breakthrough, but Arizona’s veteran QB-WR combo and influx of transfers should prove too much at home. Look for the Wildcats’ offense to hit stride under Doege and cover late.
