Who would've expected the NFC Championship game to be between two NFC West teams? The San Francisco 49ers fought tooth and nail for this moment, and they're taking on a familiar foe.

They'll head out to Los Angeles to face an NFC West rival, the Los Angeles Rams. Luckily for San Francisco, there isn't much travel involved. Their fans will also be able to make the trip.

The Los Angeles Rams host the San Francisco 49ers and their fans. The Rams are riding the high of taking down the New England Patriots in the Divisional round.

However, they'll need to put that behind them and focus on the San Francisco 49ers. Will injuries haunt the Los Angeles Rams? Could Trey Lance really make the start for San Francisco?

Let's take a look!

49ers at Rams Preview (Conference Championship)

The San Francisco 49ers and the Rams are both dealing with injuries. On the 49ers' side, you have Deebo Samuel, an integral part of the offense.

It's said that Samuels is "questionable," but he should be able to play through his soreness. The 49ers need all the offense they can get as they face the Rams. We've seen how much the Rams can score on offense when unchallenged.

Cooper Kupp should be the target for the 49ers to shut down, but they can't forget about Odell Beckham Jr. The 49ers' defense is ranked fifth in the NFL, allowing only 19.60 points per game. Their passing defense is also rather impressive, only allowing 207.16 yards per game.

Putting significant pressure on Matthew Stafford will help get him off of his game early.

The easiest way for the Los Angeles Rams to get this win is targeting Jimmy Garoppolo. The Rams will run away with this if they can pressure him into bad decisions early. They have the fifth-best run defense in the NFL, allowing only 98.21 yards per game.

Since they won't have to worry about the run, sacking Jimmy Garoppolo will be their best bet.

They'll also likely have Jalen Ramsey on Deebo Samuel the entire game.

Ramsey is their best defensive back and one of the best in the NFL. With him on Samuel, the rest of the Rams defense can send disguised blitzes.

On offense, Matthew Stafford needs to get the 49ers on their heels early. The quicker they put points on the board, the faster Jimmy G will collapse.

49ers at Rams Prediction

49ers 23 - Rams 28

The San Francisco 49ers have had a great run, but we think it comes to an end here. The 49ers will have a tough time locking down all of the weapons on the San Francisco offense. They narrowly escaped Lambeau with a win last week with a game-winning field goal.

This week, we think Garoppolo will be overwhelmed by the Rams' defense and make too many mistakes.

The Los Angeles Rams have gone 6-2 ATS in their last eight games.

They're 2-0 ATS in the playoffs so far, one of which was a road game. Although they haven't done well against the 49ers in the past, we believe Stafford will change all that.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Trent Williams, OT for the 49ers, is unlikely to play.

2. LA Rams are 7-1 SU in their last eight games.

3. The LA Rams are 7-2 SU in their last nine games played in January.

Best Bet: Los Angeles Rams -3.5

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Recap NOV 29TH 2020

The San Francisco 49ers remained the only unbeaten team in the NFC with a suffocating defensive performance on the road Sunday afternoon, shutting out the defending NFC champion Los Angeles Rams over the final 54 minutes in a 20-7 victory.

Tevin Coleman and Jimmy Garoppolo plunged for short touchdowns, and Robbie Gould kicked a pair of field goals as the 49ers (5-0) scored the game's final 20 points en route to their first victory against an NFC West opponent this season.

The 5-0 start is San Francisco's first since 1990.

Robert Woods scored on an 8-yard run for the Rams (3-3) in the game's sixth minute, but the Los Angeles offense managed just 165 total yards, leading to a third consecutive defeat.

After the Rams had scored on their opening possession, a drive that covered 56 yards in seven plays, the 49ers countered with a 2-yard score by Coleman late in the first quarter and a 1-yard sneak by Garoppolo early in the third for a 14-7 lead.

Gould's field goals were from 25 yards, later in the third quarter, and 34 yards in the fourth for the margin of victory.

The 49ers outgained the Rams 331-165 and dominated the time of possession, controlling the ball for 38:52 of the game's 60 minutes.

The San Francisco defense, which produced a record-low total of just seven turnovers last season, recovered a Jared Goff fumble to run this year's total of takeaways to 12 in five games.

The 49ers were coming off a 31-3 home win over Cleveland on Monday.

Garoppolo finished 24 of 33 for 243 yards with one interception. He hit eight different targets, including tight end George Kittle eight times for 103 yards.

Despite playing without injured running back Todd Gurley, the Rams got a majority of their offensive production on the ground, led by Malcolm Brown's 40 yards on 11 carries and Darrell Henderson Jr.'s 39 on six carries.

Jared Goff, under constant pressure and sacked four times, was limited to 78 yards on 13-for-24 passing.

The seven-point total was the Rams' lowest since losing 13-3 to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl in February.
