It's a battle between the undefeated when the Buccaneers face the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look to take firm control of the NFC, but the Rams have other plans. Tom Brady is already an early MVP-favorite, but Matthew Stafford has seemed to find his fit in Los Angeles. These two teams are so similar it's incredible, but only one can win.

As the teams prepare for kick-off, the Rams defense is the biggest storyline. They had a close call against the Indianapolis Colts last week and can't afford the same performance. If the Rams want to win this one, their defense will need to tighten up. The good news is the Rams are playing at home, where they last beat the Chicago Bears 34-14. Let's take a look at the betting lines in this game.

Buccaneers vs. Rams Preview, Stats and Trends

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off a big win over AFC South rival, the Atlanta Falcons. Although the Falcons were a walk in the park for Tampa Bay, they still had a great defensive showing. They forced three turnovers, two of which were from safety Mike Edwards who returned them for touchdowns. The Buccaneers should look to force Matthew Stafford in that same direction. If they get enough pressure on him, they can force turnovers and turn those into points.

The Rams should look to do the same thing as the Buccaneers, put pressure on the QB. Through two games, the Rams' defense hasn't been exactly what we expected. They allowed the Colts to score 24 points but forced two turnovers. Unfortunately, the Rams had two turnovers of their own. The Rams can't afford to have those kinds of mistakes against Tampa Bay, who easily create points off of turnovers.

Buccaneers vs. Rams Best Bets

Buccaneers 34 - Rams 27

This will be the Buccaneers' first game on the road this season, and it's against a great competitor. They've got a lot of weapons on offense, and Jalen Ramsey can't cover them all.

Antonio Brown is listed as "out" for the game against the Rams, which helps Los Angeles out a little. The focus now will be on Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Unfortunately, the Rams could be without Leonard Floyd on Sunday afternoon.

Rob Gronkowski has still remained as one of the hardest tight ends in the league to stop. He's had two great games to stop the season, but he might have to block more this time. Considering the Rams have Aaron Donald, Tampa Bay might need some extra blocking. Either way, we've got to go with the former Super Bowl Champions with such a small spread.

Extra Points

1. Tampa Bay is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games.

2. These two last played in 2020. The Rams won 27-24.

3. Both Darrell Henderson Jr. and Leonard Floyd are "questionable" for Sunday.

Best Bet: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -1.5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Los Angeles Rams

Jameis Winston threw for 385 yards and four touchdowns Sunday as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers pulled off the biggest upset of Week 4, setting a franchise record for most points in a game as they outgunned the host Los Angeles Rams 55-40.

Winston completed 28 of 41 passes, with the only blemish a 32-yard pick-six by Marcus Peters that drew Los Angeles (3-1) within 45-40 with 8:11 left in the game.

But Tampa Bay (2-2) closed out the biggest win of the brief Bruce Arians era in style. After Matt Gay's 21-yard field goal with 2:35 remaining restored an eight-point lead, Ndamukong Suh picked up a Jared Goff fumble and rumbled 37 yards for the clinching touchdown with 1:06 left.

Goff set a career high with 517 yards passing, hitting on 45 of 68 attempts, but mixed in three interceptions to go along with two touchdowns. It's the most passing yardage the Buccaneers have allowed in a game.

Tampa Bay wide receiver Chris Godwin lit up the Rams' secondary for 172 yards and two touchdowns on 12 receptions. Robert Woods caught 13 passes for 164 yards for Los Angeles.

Tampa Bay controlled most of the first half, putting an immediate stamp on the game with a 60-yard touchdown drive at the outset. Peyton Barber barreled in from the 3 for a 7-0 Buccaneers lead with just 4:07 elapsed off the clock.

The Winston-Godwin connection made it 21-0 before the halfway point of the second quarter. They teamed up for 3- and 9-yard touchdown passes 89 seconds apart, thanks in part to a Lavonte David interception of Goff.

Los Angeles found some footing shortly thereafter, closing within 21-14 with a pair of scores in less than three minutes. Todd Gurley zipped 13 yards for the first touchdown, and Goff hit Gerald Everett for a 5-yard scoring strike.

Tampa Bay responded with a 75-yard drive that took just over two minutes, with Ronald Jones scoring on a 5-yard run to make it 28-14.

But Greg Zuerlein gave the Rams some momentum going into halftime by bombing a 58-yard field goal with two seconds left.
