The Los Angeles Chargers face another tough test as they head into Week 6. After a hard-fought game against the Browns, they now face another AFC North opponent. As they prepare to take on the Ravens, Justin Herbert continues to impress. This will be another chance for Herbert to establish himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the AFC.

The Ravens come off an overtime win over the Colts in Week 5. Plenty of questions are now surrounding the Ravens' offensive prowess. They're facing a great Chargers offense in Week 6 and need to be on their A-game. If not, the Chargers could easily steal a home game away from the Ravens.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Baltimore Ravens Preview

What the Chargers have done this year shouldn't be a shock to anyone. Even last season, they were one of the best teams in the AFC. This year it just seems as if they're putting it all together, offense and defense. They've played some steep competition, and they'll face another tough test in Week 6.

The Chargers are ready for the Ravens, though, so we shouldn't count them out. Sure, they're the underdogs here, but they definitely have a chance to win this. Containing Lamar Jackson is their key to victory, especially since he's the Ravens' most lethal weapon. The truth is, containing him is a lot easier said than done.

The fact is, the Ravens haven't had a dominant victory aside from their win over the Denver Broncos. It seems as if something on the offensive side of the ball just isn't working. People have lately been criticizing the Ravens wide receivers for a good reason. If they're unable to move the ball well against the Chargers, LA will take this game.

Most of the weight rests on Lamar Jackson's shoulders, which is understandable. He's the leader of the team, but he can't make the tough catches himself. Someone in the wide receiving group needs to step up this week. More importantly, the Ravens' secondary better get ready for the weapons on the Chargers lineup.

Chargers vs. Ravens Predictions

Chargers 30 - Ravens 27

The Chargers have played a lot of tough competition this year, including the Chiefs, Raiders, and Browns. Through each of those games, they showed remarkable tenacity and walked away with a win. They come in as an underdog, but we feel that Los Angeles should actually be the favorite.

The Ravens narrowly lost to the Lions and the Colts in recent weeks. Relying on Lamar Jackson to win games for them is starting to take a toll. Also, consider the Ravens' secondary and how they'll perform against the Chargers' offense. The best bet here is to take the road team to win this one.

Extra Points

1. The Chargers average over 300 passing yards per game.

2. The Chargers are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games.

3. The Chargers are 4-1 ATS in their previous five road games.

Best Bet: Los Angeles Chargers ML (+158)

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Baltimore Ravens Recap OCT 17TH 2021

The Baltimore Ravens played stingy defense in shutting down Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers' dynamic offense en route to a 34-6 home win on Sunday.

Baltimore moved to 5-1 with the victory, while the Chargers moved to 4-2.

Entering Sunday's contest, Los Angeles was averaging 28.4 points per game, but the Ravens held Los Angeles to just the six points and 208 total yards.

Herbert struggled to move L.A.'s offense against Baltimore's suffocating defense, finishing 22 of 39 for 195 passing yards, with a touchdown and an interception. The Ravens held the Chargers to just 26 rushing yards.

Lamar Jackson didn't fare much better statistically for the Ravens, completing 19 of 27 passes for 167 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions. However, unlike the Chargers, Baltimore established the running game, finishing with 187 rushing yards against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL.

The Ravens scored first on a 12-play, 90-yard drive punctuated by a Latavius Murray 14-yard run with 5:17 left in the first quarter, putting Baltimore up 7-0.

After forcing Los Angeles into a three-and-out, Baltimore extended its lead to 14-0 on the ensuing drive, with Le'Veon Bell walking into the end zone untouched for a 2-yard score.

After a failed fourth-down conversion by the Chargers on their own side of the field, Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker made a 52-yard field goal for a 17-0 Ravens lead with just over seven minutes left in the half.

The Chargers were 1-for-4 on fourth-down tries on Sunday.

The Chargers finally got on the scoreboard in the second quarter. After a Kyzir White interception, Herbert found tight end Jared Cook in the back of the end zone for a 1-yard touchdown, cutting Baltimore's advantage to 17-6.

L.A's Tristan Vizcaino missed his league-leading fifth extra point this season.

The Ravens got a 9-yard touchdown reception from tight end Mark Andrews, another Tucker field goal -- this one from 39 yards -- and a Devonta Freeman 9-yard touchdown run to close out the scoring in the second half.
