The Indianapolis Colts have started their season off 0-2, which is a shock to NFL fans. They’ve fought tooth and nail each game but can’t seem to get a victory under their belt. Carson Wentz has been battered and bruised so far this season, putting his durability in question. Now, they’ll face an AFC South rival when they head to Tennessee to face the Titans.

The Titans are 1-1 after fighting for an overtime win over the Seahawks. Their first game of the season wasn’t played with as much passion, but they ramped it up in Week 2. It seems as if the Titans have figured out the only real way for them to win is with Derrick Henry. As they prepare to host one of their most notable rivals, the Titans will likely use the same plan. Give the ball to Henry early and often until he wears down the Colts defense.

Colts vs. Titans Trends, Stats and Betting Preview

This is bound to be a good game considering these two are division rivals. Last year, these two teams went 1-1 against each other, with the Colts taking the first game. The Colts were also the away team in that game as well. However, the first two weeks of this season have shown us that the Colts have a lot of growing to do. They also have a lot of healing to do as even more players find themselves on the injury list. If Xavier Rhodes and Carson Wentz aren’t ready in time for Sunday, this could easily go to the Titans.

Sure feeding Derrick Henry gives you a chance for huge touchdown runs, but also so much more. When using Derrick Henry in a large capacity, you control the flow of the game as well. Opposing teams have less time on the field, and your defense gets to rest up. The Titans relearned the formula for their success against the Seahawks. As long as Derrick Henry gets the ball, you’ll be in great shape.

Colts vs. Titans Picks (NFL Week 3)

Colts 23 - Titans 30

The Colts are going through a lot as a team right now, which doesn’t encourage bettors. The injury list continues to pile up, and Carson Wentz finds himself on it again. For any chance at taking this game over the Titans, they’ll need to control the flow better. They can’t leave Tennessee with a lot of time on the clock. Otherwise, they’ll continue to pound the ball with Derrick Henry.

The Titans know what they have to do as they head into this game. The question is whether or not they can execute it. If they stray away from what works, this game could be a lot closer than the 5-point spread. However, if the Colts are missing just a few players listed as “questionable,” the Titans should have no trouble.

EXTRA POINTS

1. Indianapolis has gone 2-4 ATS in their last six games.

2. The total has gone OVER in 8 of Tennessee’s last 11 games.

3. WR Parris Campbell and OT Braden Smith are both “out” for the game against Tennessee.

Best Bet: Tennessee -5 (-118)

Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans Recap SEP 26TH 2021

Ryan Tannehill threw three touchdown passes and Derrick Henry ran for 113 yards as the Tennessee Titans pulled out a 25-16 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Nashville, Tenn.

Tannehill hit Jeremy McNichols for a 10-yard scoring strike with 12:56 left in the game, followed by a two-point conversion run by Henry that gave Tennessee (2-1) a 22-13 lead.

After Rodrigo Blankenship made his third field goal for the Colts (0-3), a 24-yarder with 10:20 left, the Titans melted nearly 7 1/2 minutes off the clock before Randy Bullock converted the game-sealing 32-yard field goal with 2:58 remaining.

Tannehill completed 18 of 27 passes for Tennessee, which possessed the ball for just over 34 minutes and outgained Indianapolis 368-265.

Carson Wentz hit on 19 of 37 passes for 194 yards for Indianapolis while playing on two sprained ankles. Jonathan Taylor managed 64 yards on 10 carries, but the Colts' running game was hampered by the loss of guard Quenton Nelson in the second quarter with an injury.

Tennessee got off to a fast start, scoring on its first drive when Tannehill found Chester Rogers for a 6-yard touchdown pass that capped an 11-play drive that lasted more than 5 1/2 minutes.

Indianapolis used the first of two Tannehill interceptions as a vehicle to its first score. Nine plays after Darius Leonard picked off Tannehill to stop a promising drive, Nyheim Hines zipped 9 yards around left end with 10:19 left in the first half to tie the game.

The Titans responded when Tannehill and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine connected on an 18-yard scoring strike with 5:56 remaining for a 14-7 lead. For Westbrook-Ikhine, it was his first NFL touchdown.

Tennessee was driving again later in the half when a second Tannehill interception was returned 32 yards by Kenny Moore. Blankenship's 43-yard field goal as time expired pulled the Colts within 14-10 at intermission.

Henry carried the football 28 times and added three catches for 31 yards.
