The Dallas Cowboys are one of the greatest teams in the NFC right now. You could argue, aside from the Arizona Cardinals, that they have the best offense. This week that offense will get put to another test, against the mind of Bill Belichick. Can the Cowboys overcome one of the most intelligent minds in NFL history? Or could this be their first loss in four games?

The New England Patriots haven’t had the year they wanted, that’s for sure. Unfortunately, without Tom Brady, the Patriots just aren’t the same. They’re currently 2-3 and coming off a win over the Houston Texans. Now they’ll face the other team from Texas, the Dallas Cowboys. The question is, how will the Patriots be able to stop Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot?

Cowboys vs. Patriots Betting Preview

The offensive attack for the Dallas Cowboys is almost too much for anyone to take. Only one team has beaten them this year and it’s the former Super Bowl Champions. Since Week 1, the Dallas Cowboys haven’t lost a single game, you could credit this to their offense. On average, the Dallas Cowboys rush for 172.8 yards per game, second in the NFL.

They score an average of 34 points each week, also second in the NFL. However, what might surprise you is that they only allow an average of 23.4 points. This means the defense is backing up the offense surprisingly well. This is mostly due to the incredible play of Trevon Diggs. So how can the Patriots combat the Cowboys attack?

There is definitely an outline of how Bill Belichick wants this game to go. However, the biggest problem is whether his team can execute it. Before, when the Patriots were running the NFL, he had all the right pieces in place. Now, the entire team is scrambled and lost half the time. They’ve got a losing record heading in to face one of the best offenses in the league.

The good news for the Patriots is they’ve done well against great offenses before. Not too long ago they faced the Buccaneers and allowed just 19 points. They’ll need that same strength against the Cowboys, but they’ll need some offense too. Mac Jones better be ready to sling the ball around without the turnovers.

Cowboys vs. Patriots Prediction

Cowboys 24 - Patriots 17

The Cowboys are a very hard team to beat, especially with an inexperienced quarterback. Mac Jones has a lot of learning to do before he gets into shootouts. The Patriots have the advantage of being at home, but the Cowboys aren’t bad on the road. Still, this will be their first road game in three weeks.

The spread is Dallas -4, which isn’t a lot of points, but the Buccaneers only beat the Patriots by two. However, when taking into account the offensive intensity of the Cowboys, we have to lean towards Dallas.

Extra Points

1. The Cowboys average over 31 minutes of the time of possession.

2. Dallas is 0-3 against the Patriots in their last three games.

3. The Dallas Cowboys are 5-0 ATS this season.

Best Bet: Dallas Cowboys -4

Dallas Cowboys vs. New England Patriots

Tom Brady completed 17 of 37 passes for 190 yards and one touchdown, and the New England Patriots held on for a 13-9 win over the visiting Dallas Cowboys on a cold, wet and windy Sunday afternoon in Foxborough, Mass.

N'Keal Harry scored the lone touchdown for New England (10-1), which notched double-digit victories for the 17th straight season. Julian Edelman led all receivers with eight catches for 93 yards, and Sony Michel led the ground attack with 20 carries for 85 yards.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott struggled in the inclement weather, completing 19 of 33 passes for 212 yards and an interception. Dallas (6-5) lost for the second time in the past three weeks.

Ezekiel Elliott finished with 126 yards from scrimmage (86 rushing, 40 receiving) to lead the Cowboys. Veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb had four catches for 86 yards, but teammate Amari Cooper was held without a reception.

New England opened the scoring in the final minute of the first quarter when Brady connected with Harry for a 10-yard touchdown. A blocked punt by Patriots special-teams ace Matthew Slater two plays earlier helped set up the score.

Harry laid on his back and raised both of his arms to the sky to celebrate his first career touchdown. The rookie out of Arizona State was New England's first-round draft pick (No. 32 overall) this spring.

A 44-yard field goal by Nick Folk increased the Patriots' lead to 10-0 early in the second quarter.

Dallas responded with two field goals to cut the deficit to 10-6 at halftime. Brett Maher made kicks from 46 yards and 27 yards.

New England increased its lead to 13-6 when Folk connected from 42 yards with 9:32 remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Cowboys pulled back within 13-9 on a 29-yarder by Maher with 6:04 to go.

Cowboys tight end Jason Witten played in his 250th career game. He became the 46th player in NFL history and only the third at his position to achieve the milestone, joining tight ends Trey Junkin (281 games) and Tony Gonzalez (270).
