The Cam Newton-led Carolina Panthers head to Miami to face Tua and the Dolphins on Sunday. This game is huge for the Panthers who are currently third in the NFC South. However, a win here could edge them in front of the New Orleans Saints. A loss, on the other hand, could put them behind Atlanta in the division. It’s safe to say this is a must-win for Carolina.

The Miami Dolphins are 4-7 right now but don’t count them out just yet. The Buffalo Bills are just ahead of them in the division, but a few wins could switch that. With Tua back in the lineup and running the offense, the Dolphins are in much better shape. Still, they’ll be facing Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey on Sunday, a tough duo to be sure.

Panthers at Dolphins Betting Preview and Stats

The Carolina Panthers finally have some semblance of an offense with Cam Newton at quarterback. More importantly, having Christian McCaffrey back in the lineup is huge for the Panthers. McCaffrey had a touchdown against Washington last week, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win. Hopefully, he’ll get some more attention against the Dolphins.

The Panthers will also need some help from their defense on Sunday. Normally, the Panthers are quite good on defense, but they were absent against Washington. They allowed the Washington Football Team to rack up 369 yards and 27 points. If they perform that way against the Dolphins, the Panthers will be in a ton of trouble.

The main focus of the Miami Dolphins should be on Christian McCaffrey. He’s an incredible running back but also a receiving threat. For the Dolphins to have any success, they’ll need to make McCaffrey a non-factor on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Dolphins’ defense has been pretty terrible this season, allowing an average of 24.5 points per game.

Another big issue for the Dolphins is how many passing yards they allow per game. As of Week 11, the Dolphins allow an average of 274.18 passing yards per game. Facing Cam Newton will be tough for their defense because he can attack them on each level. He can go through the air or take off from the pocket. It just seems like the Dolphins are outmatched in this one.

Panthers at Dolphins Pick

Panthers 23 - Dolphins 17

Although we enjoy watching Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins play, we like the Panthers here. Carolina has multiple weapons to attack the Dolphins defense with. The Dolphins have both of their best wide receivers on the injured reserve list. This gives Tagovailoa very few options to target on Sunday.

The Panthers are 3-2 against the spread when traveling, giving us a little trust in them. They also will only have to cover a 2-point spread on Sunday. With McCaffrey and Newton both ready to get another win on the road, we’ll take Carolina.

EXTRA POINTS

1. In their last three meetings, the Panthers are 2-1 against the Dolphins.

2. The Panthers are 10-2 ATS in their last twelve road games.

3. The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Miami's last 6 games.

Best Bet: Carolina Panthers -2

Carolina Panthers vs. Miami Dolphins Recap NOV 28TH 2021

Tua Tagovailoa completed 27 of 31 passes for 230 yards and one touchdown, leading the host Miami Dolphins to their fourth straight win, beating the Carolina Panthers 33-10 on Sunday afternoon.

It was Miami's highest-scoring game of the season.

Carolina (5-7) benched starting quarterback Cam Newton early in the fourth quarter. Newton completed just 5 of 21 passes for 92 yards and no touchdowns. He was intercepted twice and sacked once.

Miami (5-7) got a great performance from rookie wide receiver Jaylen Waddle, who caught nine passes for 137 yards and one touchdown. It was his first career 100-yard game.

Tagovailoa, who was not intercepted, became the first quarterback in Dolphins history to complete at least 80 percent of his passes in two straight games. He completed 81.8 percent of his passes last week against the Jets and 87.1 percent versus Carolina.

The Dolphins also benefitted from a punt block recovered in the end zone, and Myles Gaskin had two rushing touchdowns, both of them 3-yarders on direct snaps.

Miami's defense picked off three passes, by Xavien Howard, Jevon Holland and Nik Needham. Howard, who has twice led the league in interceptions, has 25 career picks.

Special teams put the Dolphins on the board first as Justin Coleman, who was covering the gunner, blitzed. He was blocked, but that freed Duke Riley for an untouched path to the punter. Coleman recovered the blocked punt and traveled 2 yards for a 7-0 lead.

Despite getting a punt blocked for the first time since 2014, Carolina had an early answer as Newton beat a seven-man blitz with a 64-yard pass to DJ Moore. Newton capped that drive with a one-yard TD run.

In the second quarter, Howard ran his interception back to the Carolina 9-yard line. On third and goal from the 9, Tagovailoa hit Waddle with a TD pass, giving Miami a 14-7 lead.

Gaskin's 3-yard TD run and a 41-yard field goal from Carolina's Zane Gonzalez left the Dolphins with a 21-10 halftime lead.

Miami put the game away with its first possession of the second half, a 13-play, 80-yard march that ended in another Gaskin score. That drive ate up 7:24 on the clock.
