The Seattle Seahawks had a narrow loss to the Tennessee Titans bringing their record to 1-1. Seattle fans shouldn’t be too discouraged though as the team has continued to play well. The loss to the Titans was a mere setback in their season, one the Seahawks can overcome. Russell Wilson has started his season off as an MVP hopeful and can continue that play against the Vikings.

The Vikings haven’t had many things go their way to start the year off. They’ve been outplayed by each team they’ve faced so far and missed a field goal to get their first win. Signs of life on the field are still there though, they just need to put it all together. After facing one of the best teams in the NFC West, the Vikings now face the other. At least facing Arizona first was a great way to prepare for Seattle.

Seahawks vs. Vikings Betting Preview for Week 3

The Seattle Seahawks have what looks to be the most efficient offense in the NFL. Through two games, the Seahawks have scored 61 points, one of the highest totals in the league. They were able to get those points against two AFC South teams, one of which they lost to. The loss to the Titans should prepare them to face the Vikings. Both teams are run heavy and take advantage of play-action plays. That should help Pete Carroll come up with a plan to defeat the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings have had to do a lot of traveling right from the beginning of the season. They started with a trip to Cincinnati and from there head out to Arizona, which takes a lot out of you. Now they’re at home, but the inconsistencies don’t change just because you’re in your own stadium. Honestly, the defense doesn’t look much better than it did in 2020 (one of the worst defenses in Zimmer’s era). The Bengals scored 27 points on them and the Cardinals scored 34. If they perform that way against Seattle, they can say hello to an 0-3 start.

Seahawks vs. Vikings Best Bets

Seahawks 35 - Vikings 23

When looking at each of these teams you’ll see a stark contrast between the two of them. The Seahawks, although coming off a loss, have their head above water and a positive outlook. The Vikings, however, are sinking quickly due to inconsistency on all three levels. Minnesota can’t even rely on their kicker to seal a victory for them with a 37-yard field goal. These are the things that haunt a team and put unnecessary pressure on them.

The spread is perfect in this one, the 1.5-point spread makes this game essentially a pick ‘em. Bettors will have to ask themselves which team is more reliable? The team that has shown consistency through two weeks? Or the team that is still searching for a way to win without consistency? For us, the choice is clear in this one, Seattle Seahawks all the way.

Extra Points

1. The Seattle Seahawks are 8-2 against the Minnesota Vikings.

2. The Minnesota Vikings haven’t defeated the Seattle Seahawks since 2009.

3. The Minnesota Vikings are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games.

Best Bet: Seattle Seahawks -1.5 (-106)

Seattle Seahawks vs. Minnesota Vikings

Russell Wilson threw for 82 yards in his preseason debut, but the Minnesota Vikings used strong performances from their backup quarterbacks to beat the Seattle Seahawks 25-19 on Sunday in Minneapolis.

Wilson and Vikings starter Kirk Cousins each played two series and led their teams to one field goal. Wilson finished 6 of 9 and added two carries for 9 yards on the ground, while Cousins went 6 of 8 for 68 passing yards.

Sean Mannion entered next for the Vikings and was up and down. He went 11 of 14 for 88 yards with a touchdown but also threw an interception, which DeShawn Shead returned 88 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter. Third-stringer Kyle Sloter helped the Vikings pull it back, going 11 of 13 for 116 yards and a touchdown.

Paxton Lynch relieved Wilson and had a much rougher outing than his opener against Denver. He finished 6 of 15 for 67 yards. Recently signed ex-Ohio State star J.T. Barrett missed all three passes, throwing an interception, in minimal action.
