Injury Concerns Mount for Toronto Ahead of Clash With Revolution
Toronto FC return to MLS action on Saturday with growing health concerns and still searching for their first home win of the season. The Reds host a surging New England Revolution side that’s riding a three-game winning streak.
Osorio Injury Headlines Toronto’s Troubles
Captain Jonathan Osorio is unlikely to feature after suffering a dislocated shoulder in Wednesday’s Canadian Championship loss to CF Montreal. While the severity is still unclear, coach Robin Fraser suggested it could be a lingering issue.

“I’ve seen people recover from that really quickly, and I’ve seen people take a really long time,” Fraser said. “It’s going to hurt for a while.”
Federico Bernardeschi is also questionable with an ankle issue, though the team is optimistic about his availability.
“We want to make sure it’s safe for him so that it doesn’t turn into a long-term thing,” Fraser added.
Toronto (1-5-4, 7 points) has earned points in four of its last five matches (1-1-3) but remains winless at home (0-2-2) this season.
Revolution Riding High With Revamped Defense
New England (4-4-1, 13 points) head north aiming to extend their winning streak to four games. The Revolution are 2-2-1 on the road and have not conceded a goal in their last three matches — a stretch that highlights their new-look back line.
Center backs Mamadou Fofana, Tanner Beason, and Brayan Ceballos have anchored a unit that has conceded just seven goals through nine matches — tied for fewest in MLS with Vancouver.

“Our mentality, above all, is our strength, along with the unity between teammates,” Ceballos said. “We’re all working day-to-day and keeping our responsibilities.”
Toronto swept both matches against New England last season, each by a 1-0 scoreline, but enters this year’s first meeting with key personnel concerns and inconsistent form.
