Union Put 7-Match Unbeaten Run on the Line at Toronto FC
The red-hot Philadelphia Union aim to extend their unbeaten streak to eight matches as they visit Toronto FC on Wednesday night in a key Eastern Conference showdown.
Philadelphia (9-3-3, 30 points) sits atop the East and hasn’t tasted defeat since April 12 — a narrow 1-0 loss to NYCFC. Since then, they’ve compiled a 5-0-2 record and continue to impress, including a hard-fought 3-3 draw against Inter Miami last Friday. Now the Union turn their focus to the road, where they’ve gone 4-2-0 this season.

Coach Bradley Carnell praised Toronto’s competitive edge ahead of the clash, noting their strengths in midfield and on the wings.
“(Toronto is) an aggressive team; they have a very competitive midfield. (Jonathan) Osorio brings a bit of experience there, too, and they’re very dangerous on the flanks,” Carnell said.
Union’s Attack Stays Hot, Toronto Struggling at Home
One of the Union’s most critical weapons this season has been Tai Baribo, who leads MLS with 13 goals after a brace against Miami. Their offensive firepower is also getting a boost between the posts with goalkeeper Andre Blake cleared to return from a knee injury after missing the last four matches.
Philadelphia will look to flip the script after Toronto took four points off them in 2024, including a 2-1 home win and a goalless draw in their two head-to-head meetings.
Toronto FC (3-8-4, 13 points), currently 14th in the East, continue to struggle with consistency. They fell 2-1 at home to Nashville on Saturday despite a milestone goal from captain Jonathan Osorio, his 50th with the club. Though he sees growth in the squad, the urgency to convert that into points is mounting.
“At some point, you got to get results, but the team is improving its play, and that’s a positive,” Osorio said. “We can’t waste any games going forward. We have a lot of ground to cover.”
The Reds are just 1-5-2 at home this year and have only one win in their last three matches, making this fixture a tough test. With Philadelphia in dominant form and Baribo continuing to shine, this is one to watch for fans eyeing MLS Match Analysis and Predictions this week.
