Head coach Dan Hurley is bringing the Huskies back to relevance in college basketball. The Huskies went 23-10 last year and earned a No. 5 seed in the NCAA tournament. For the second straight season, UConn was eliminated in the first round of the Big Dance. Hurley would like to change that this season. His team got off to a 14-0 start this season. That included a win over current No. 2 Alabama.
The Huskies can fill it up with Adama Sanago (16.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) and Jordan Hawkins (16.1 ppg). UConn ran into a buzzsaw in the Big East where Xavier, Providence, and Marquette are all ranked. All six Huskies losses have come in conference play. There’s no doubt UConn is an NCAA tournament team. The question is how far the Huskies can advance.
