Mariners Can Win If…

Seattle continues to lean on its power. The Mariners rank third in MLB with 205 home runs, and Rodríguez is on the cusp of another 30/30 season after belting his 29th and 30th long balls Saturday. Cal Raleigh remains a force as well, pacing the majors with 52 homers.

Luis Castillo (8-8, 3.94 ERA) takes the ball, seeking his first win since late July. Though he’s struggled to pitch deep into games lately, his track record against Atlanta (3-1, 1.80 ERA in six starts) is excellent.

“Baseball is so full of ups and downs, it is not going to stay all negative,” Castillo said after his last outing.

If Castillo keeps Atlanta quiet early and Rodríguez stays hot, Seattle can grab the series.

Braves Can Win If…

Atlanta needs Ronald Acuña Jr. to rediscover his MVP form. Since returning from injury in August, he’s hit just .198 with limited production. Manager Brian Snitker dropped him to sixth in the order Saturday to ease pressure, and he did draw two walks.

Spencer Strider (5-12, 4.97 ERA) will try to halt his personal losing skid, having not earned a win since July. He has the strikeout stuff to match Seattle’s power, but efficiency has been an issue.

“We weren’t pleased with what it looked like in the second half offensively,” Snitker said after an uneven effort in Friday’s win.

If Acuña sparks the lineup and Strider can limit the damage, the Braves can bounce back at home.

The Lean

Model Projection: Braves 5, Mariners 4
Pick: Braves Moneyline (-125)
Total Lean: Over 9.0

The Mariners’ power is undeniable, but Castillo’s recent struggles and Strider’s need for a rebound give Atlanta a slim edge at home. Expect offense on both sides, making the over the stronger total play. For more previews and daily insights, visit our MLB Betting Predictions hub.
