Dream vs Wings Picks and Predictions — August 29, 2025
The Atlanta Dream continue their playoff push Friday night as they host the Dallas Wings in College Park, Ga. The Dream (24-14) are jockeying for seeding near the top of the standings, while the Wings (9-30) are eliminated but still building toward the future with their rookie stars.
Oddsmakers have Atlanta listed as a double-digit favorite with the total at 166. With the Dream hungry to lock in their postseason spot, this matchup carries much more weight for the home team.

Atlanta Can Win If…
They rediscover their offensive rhythm from the perimeter. Against Las Vegas, the Dream shot just 16.7 percent from three and fell 81-75 despite 19 points each from Rhyne Howard and Brionna Jones.
“We’re not going to be winning playoff games and winning championships shooting sub-20 percent from three,” coach Karl Smesko said. “But we are definitely competing on the defensive end.”
Atlanta thrives in transition, and Smesko noted they must reignite that part of their game. With Howard leading the charge and Jones dominating inside, the Dream should have too much firepower if shots are falling.
Dallas Can Win If…
They get Paige Bueckers back and healthy contributions from their rookies. Bueckers set a rookie record with 44 points earlier this month, but she missed Wednesday’s game due to illness. Fellow rookie Aziaha James scored 22 in her place before leaving with an ankle injury, leaving her doubtful for Friday.
“To come in right off the college season and be able to do this is just so impressive,” teammate Maddy Siegrest said of Bueckers. “She really makes people around her better.”
If Bueckers suits up, Dallas could hang around. Without her, the Wings will struggle to match Atlanta’s intensity and balance.

Pick: Dream -11.5
Projected Final Score: Dream 88, Wings 74
Atlanta has everything to play for while Dallas limps toward the finish line. If Bueckers is limited or out, the Wings won’t have enough scoring to keep pace. Expect Howard and Jones to deliver a balanced effort and for the Dream to cover at home.
