As we roll into Week 7 of the NFL, the Denver Broncos are on a three-game skid. After starting the year off 3-0, they’ve fallen to 3-3 and now face the Cleveland Browns. In order to keep their head above water, they’ll need a win on Thursday night. However, the Browns have one of the best rushing attacks in the league, something the Broncos struggle against.

The Cleveland Browns were one of the best teams in the AFC North at the start of the season. Unfortunately for them, they’ve faced the same skid as the Denver Broncos. After losing two games in a row, the Browns now sit at the bottom of the division. As their season slips from their grasp, they’ll get a Thursday night game to get it back on track.

Denver Broncos vs. Cleveland Browns Preview (NFL Week 7)

The Denver Broncos had quite a lot going for them when the season started. Teddy Bridgewater had a good command of the offense, and the defense was rolling. Somehow, the Broncos got off track and allowed themselves to fall into this slump. Now that we’re in the seventh week, the Broncos need to gain control quickly.

It’s time for them to get back to basics and take a look at their mistakes. This extends to the coaches as well, who haven’t had much to say. Their schedule doesn’t get much easier, and they need a win over a strong opponent. The Cleveland Browns give them an opportunity to capture a big win on the road.

You would think that after leading the division, the Browns wouldn’t want to give up their hold on it. However, the Ravens have already easily passed them up, and so have the Bengals. Now, the Browns are tied for last with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who just won on Sunday night. As much as the Broncos need to work on their mistakes, Cleveland is in the same boat.

The good news for Cleveland is they need slightly less work to be done. They’ve got an incredible offense, one that scored 42 points against the Chargers. However, the inconsistencies on offense are what plagues them. Once they iron out those issues, you’ll see a better Browns team. Facing the Broncos will be a good opportunity to fix their mechanics.

Broncos vs. Browns Predictions

Broncos 17 - Browns 28

The Broncos come into this game knowing how desperately they need a win. They have a record of 2-1 on the road and are a good match for Cleveland. However, the Cleveland Browns defense can be rather stingy. If Denver is too conservative, the Browns can gain control of this one. Similar to the Broncos game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Cleveland Browns have a lot of work to do, but we believe it starts here. Week 7 is a chance for the Browns to regain control of their season. The Broncos struggled against high-powered offenses, something the Browns have. Only needing to cover 5 points shouldn’t be a problem on Thursday night.

Extra Points

1. Broncos wide receiver David Moore is “out” for the game on Thursday.

2. Browns RB Kareem Hunt is listed as “questionable” for Thursday night.

3. The Cleveland Browns average 168.5 rushing yards per game.
