Prepare for an NFC North battle when the Packers take on the Bears. The Green Bay Packers have been on a roll since their Week 1 loss, winning four straight. Now, they’ll play their second divisional game of the year. Aaron Rodgers is back to looking like himself, which is great for Green Bay. More importantly, the defense is holding up their end of the bargain.

The Chicago Bears are on their own win streak, winning two straight games. Although they weren’t over notable teams, the Bears are taking a step in the right direction. They’ve decided to stick with rookie Justin Fields, but have tailored a better offense for him. Will this offensive change work against the Green Bay Packers? We’ll find out on Sunday.

Packers vs. Bears Preview, Trends and Stats

Games between rivals are always entertaining and we expect no less here. The Packers look like the better team, sure, but they’ve lost to Chicago in recent years. That isn’t to say that the Packers don’t have everything they need to win this game though. Green Bay has a great offense, headlined by Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams. Don’t forget about their defense!

Last week, the Green Bay Packers held the Cincinnati Bengals to just 22 points. They also created some key turnovers to regain the momentum. The defense will look to do the same against rookie QB Justin Fields. If they pressure him into making mistakes, all the Packers offense will do is capitalize.

Don’t count out the Bears too quickly though, their new offense seems to work rather well. They’ve pivoted to a heavy run-based offense behind David Montgomery. This gives Justin Fields time to relax and make accurate throws. He’s also great at taking off using his legs, something Green Bay has to defend.

On the defensive side, the Bears need to do incredible in coverage. Aaron Rodgers is great at exploiting secondaries so the Bears need to make sure that doesn’t happen. One way they can do this is by controlling the clock themselves. If they do that, they won’t give the Packers offense much time on the field.

Packers vs. Bears Point Spread Pick

Packers 27 - Bears 16

The Chicago Bears will need a lot of things to go right on Sunday to beat the Packers. Although it’s possible, we believe that will be unlikely. The Bears haven’t beat the Packers since 2018 and that losing streak will continue on Sunday. The Packers are really starting to warm up and another win over a division rival is just what they need.

The Packers won’t need to cover a large spread either, which is great news for bettors. That being said, we expect this game to be in the Packers control from the first quarter. Covering the 4.5 points needed should be no sweat. Take the road team here to win this one and increase their record to 5-1.

Extra Points

1. Green Bay is 4-1 ATS this season.

2. Green Bay is 9-1 in their last ten games against Chicago.

3. The Packers have gone 4-1 ATS in their last five games against Chicago.

Best Bet: Green Bay Packers -4.5

Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears Recap OCT 17TH 2021

Aaron Rodgers passed for two touchdowns and ran for another, Aaron Jones had 110 yards of total offense and the defense allowed its fewest points this season as the visiting Green Bay Packers downed the Chicago Bears 24-14 on Sunday afternoon.

The Packers (5-1) stretched their winning streak to five games, overcoming three Bears sacks to outgain Chicago 323-277.

Rodgers improved to 21-5 against the NFC North-rival Bears in his career behind an efficient performance. He was 17-for-23 through the air for 195 yards while rushing for 19 yards. Rodgers ran 6 yards for his third total touchdown with 4:30 remaining, as Green Bay quickly answered a Chicago touchdown that snapped a run of 17 consecutive Packers points.

Moments earlier, the Bears drew to within 17-14 on a 5-yard touchdown pass from Justin Fields to Darnell Mooney, Chicago's first points since with 6:45 left in the first quarter.

Chicago (3-3) visited the end zone on its opening drive, capitalizing on a Green Bay punt with an eight-play, 80-yard drive that culminated with a 1-yard scoring run from Khalil Herbert, the first touchdown of the rookie's career.

A 26-yard defensive pass interference penalty against the Packers helped bring the Bears to the 1-yard line, and was preceded by a 20-yard pass from Fields to Allen Robinson on third-and-three.

Green Bay navigated a solid Bears pass rush without center Josh Myers for the majority of the afternoon. Myers, who returned the lineup Sunday following a hand injury, suffered a leg injury on the opening drive and did not return.

The Packers took a 10-7 lead into halftime, then went up 17-7 on their first possession of the third quarter on a 12-yard scoring pass from Rogers to Jones. Jones rushed for 76 yards on 13 carries and had four receptions for 34 yards.

Davante Adams had four receptions for 89 yards for Green Bay.

Fields was 16-for-27 passing for 174 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while adding 43 yards on the ground. Herbert rushed for 97 yards on 19 carries.
