The late-season arrival of Thomas Müller has elevated the Whitecaps’ attack to another level. The 36-year-old legend has six goals and three assists in six matches, bringing Champions League-winning experience and calm under pressure. Müller’s stoppage-time strike at Orlando City on Oct. 11 sealed a 2–1 win and the conference lead.
Behind Müller, Ryan Gauld remains the creative core, while Brian White and Tristan Blackmon continue to provide balance in attack and defense. Vancouver’s passing rhythm and efficiency on set pieces have been elite, and they’ve conceded just 12 goals in 16 home matches — a key edge heading into Decision Day.

The math for Dallas is tougher. Sitting eighth, they must win to guarantee a playoff berth. A draw could still see them sneak in depending on Colorado or Real Salt Lake’s results, but a loss could end their season.
Coach Eric Quill has his team playing with fight, but suspensions could cripple the attack — Petar Musa (18 goals) and Logan Farrington (5 goals) are both out. Dallas will rely heavily on Alan Velasco and Paul Arriola to find goals in transition and from wide areas.
Defensively, Dallas has been inconsistent, allowing 49 goals this season. They’ll need a perfect performance from goalkeeper Maarten Paes to stay alive.
