2020 College Bowl Season Special Game Props

Spring is right around the corner and most of the top college football teams are busy with their initial preparations for the coming season this fall. With the senior class moving on and the new recruits yet to arrive, it is hard to get a solid read on any one team.

You already know which teams should compete for a national title and which coaches will be on the hot seat if their team fails to meet expectations. Some NFL draft gurus are already predicting the first overall pick of the 2021 draft two months ahead of this year’s selections.

Never To Early To Bet on Football

During the long and sometimes boring college football offseason, diehard fans and bettors are always looking for something to pique their interest.THIS MAY INTEREST YOU: EARLY 2020 SEC COLLEGE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FUTURES

One of the best things about today’s top-rated online sportsbooks is their ability and willingness to push the envelope when it comes to finding innovative ways to bet on sports when there are no games on the board.

One of the top online books for betting college football recently released a set of special game props covering the 2020 bowl season.

They do not include any specific teams, but they do cover some interesting betting options for the games themselves.

2020 College Bowl Season Highest Team Score

With the point total set at 63, the betting odds favor no team reaching that number at -175. The odds that at least one bowl team scores 63 points or more are set at +135.

Going back to last year’s results, the highest scoring team was the National Champion LSU Tigers with 63 points in their semifinal playoff win against Oklahoma. A few more teams scored more than 50 points in their bowl game wins.

I would go with the value play that at least one team puts up at least 63 points during the next college bowl season given the plus money in this bet.

2020 College Bowl Season Shutout

The prop bet odds that at least one team gets shutout in a 2020 bowl game favors YES at -150. The odds that no team gets shutout are set at +110.

Once again using last year as a guide, the Miami Hurricanes failed to score in a loss to Louisiana Tech as the only shutout on the board.

Going with the theory that the bowl schedule is made up Division IA’s best teams, it takes a pretty dismal effort to remain scoreless for all four quarters.

Given the location of some of these bowl games, weather would always be a concern.

Yet, more than likely a team is going to find a way to put some points on the board. Once again, I am going with the plus money by betting there will be no shutouts in next season’s bowl schedule.

2020 College Bowl Season Overtime Games

This prop gives you three betting options:

1. Overtime Games: OVER 2.5 +320  UNDER 2.5 -460

2. Double Overtime: YES +220      NO -300

3. Triple Overtime:    YES +550     NO -1050

None of last season’s bowl games ended in overtime and it is tough to see at least three games ending as a tie in regulation next year. The value bet would be the +220 odds that at least one game does to double overtime.
