Plenty of Returners
DJ Uiagalelei is back as the quarterback of the Clemson offense, but that might not be a good thing for the Tigers. Uiagalelei has really struggled to be consistent for the Tigers, but a better 2022 season should allow this team to really take off.
Clemson will also be without two of their top coordinators in 2022, and that could be another major problem. Defensive coordinator Brent Venables is easily the biggest loss, and Clemson can’t afford to take a step back on the defensive side of the ball.
Because of the down season in 2021, Clemson didn’t lose as many players to the NFL as in some year’s past, and there will be plenty of skill. The Tigers just need a ton of these returners to step up, especially if they are going to contend for a national championship.
Class of the ACC
It was a shock to not see the Clemson Tigers in the ACC Championship a season ago, but don’t expect that to happen again in 2022. Clemson is the clear betting favorite to win the ACC this season, and this is a league that doesn’t really have a ton of contenders.
Even though the Tigers are expected to win the ACC, you can expect them to lose a game along the way. There are enough tough road environments in that conference that the Tigers might slip up along the way.
Clemson will also have a road game at Notre Dame and a home game against South Carolina in November, and those are tough games outside of league play.

Clemson is going to be improved in 2022, but they aren’t going to be a team that threatens to run the table. The Tigers shouldn’t have a ton of trouble winning the ACC, but even the best Clemson teams have slipped up in recent seasons.
Ten wins would be a great season for Clemson, and it could be enough to get this team into the College Football Playoff yet again. The best bet is to take the under at -130 as this Clemson team simply isn’t good enough to get to 11 wins.
