Liberty at Syracuse Prediction
Best Bet: Syracuse Orange +2.5 (-110)
Syracuse should feel disrespected that it’s coming into a game against Liberty as underdogs. Liberty are undefeated, but are new to the FBS as of 2018. To top this off, two of the team’s wins this season have come over FCS schools.
Syracuse may only have one win under their belt, but it’s over Georgia Tech. The Orange have played a lot tougher competition this season than the Flames. This will help power them to cover the +2.5 point spread with ease.
Louisville at (#4) Notre Dame Prediction
Best Bet: Notre Dame Fighting Irish ML (-800)
I think -800 is a little generous for Notre Dame in this contest. The Irish will win, but Louisville have played well against Top 25 teams this year. Despite this, Notre Dame are by far the best team the Cardinals will face all year.
The Fighting Irish haven’t been in a fight all season, and I don’t think Saturday will be any different. Louisville could come out strong, but it can’t compete with the Irish for four quarters.
(#11) Texas A&M at Mississippi State Prediction
Best Bet: Mississippi State Bulldogs ML (+210)
Texas A&M are coming into Saturday as the 11th-ranked team in the nation. It will face Mississippi State, which has suffered two embarrassing losses against unranked SEC opponents. This has made people forget that Mississippi State are the reason LSU had its first blemish on their 2020 record.
Mississippi State are at home, and we’ve seen the firepower that the Bulldogs have on their team. QB KJ Costello will need to play like he did in Death Valley instead of the past two games, though.
For a parlay that pays 24/1, you’re going to need to take some chances. This is a risk, but Mississippi State have shown that it can play with the big boys.
Boston College at (#23) Virginia Tech Prediction
Best Bet: Boston College +12.5 (-110)
Boston College are coming off a huge win in overtime against Pittsburgh 31-30. The 2020 expectations are very high in Chestnut Hill after the Golden Eagles’ hot 3-1 start.
Virginia Tech are 23rd in the nation, and I think they will pull out a win on Saturday. Despite this, Boston College are playing great football and 12.5 points is a very big gap for a team that only lost to No. 5 North Carolina by four points.
The Golden Eagles played the Tar Heels a lot tougher than the Hokies did last Saturday. They got beat by two scores in a shootout where their defense allowed 56 points. Boston College are dangerous, and they haven’t lost by more than 12 points this season. Don’t expect Saturday to be any different.
(#3) Georgia at (#2) Alabama Prediction
Best Bet: Georgia Bulldogs +6.5 (-110)
Football fans have had their eyes on this game since last season ended. This year, Alabama have looked a little stronger than Georgia. Putting this aside, both teams are very talented and deserve to be in the top 5.
This is going to be a close game. When top teams meet, blowouts don’t often happen. Alabama have shown that their defense is vulnerable. The Crimson Tide gave up 48 points to unranked Ole Miss, so Georgia will get its opportunities to capitalize.
Look for the battle in the trenches to play a huge role in this game. If Georgia can get its ground game going, it will open up the aerial attack for quarterback Stetson Bennett. I think Bennett, along with Alabama quarterback Mac Jones, will have a big day through the air.
I’m expecting a shootout, and if this is the case, Georgia have a great chance of covering +6.5.
