Atlanta and San Francisco were both on the losing end of their weekend series openers last night. They are among our team totals picks for today as they try and even up their series.

Atlanta Braves – OVER 4.5 (-115)
With Andrew Heaney a scratch, the Dodgers will go with Mitch White (0-1, 3.86). He will face a Braves lineup that is tied for sixth in runs per game (4.74) this season.
Atlanta has won 16 of its last 20 games and over their last 10 games the Braves have scored 5.1 runs per game.
White didn’t allow a run in his last start against the White Sox, but in his previous one he gave up three earned runs to a weak Pirates lineup.
San Francisco Giants – OVER 4.5 (-110)
The Giants were upset last night by Cincinnati scoring just two runs in the process. Tonight, San Francisco faces Reds pitcher Mike Minor.
That’s why the Giants will go Over 4.5 runs tonight. Minor is 1-3 this season with an ERA of 6.97. He’s only started four games, but he’s given up at least three earned runs in each start.
In each of his last two starts, Minor has allowed four earned runs. He did manage to pitch at least six innings in both of those starts.
That’s important because the Reds bullpen will have to take over at some point. That bullpen is the worst in baseball. The Reds relievers have an ERA of 5.25.
Whether it’s Minor of the Reds bullpen, the Giants, who average 4.86 runs per game, will get Over this total.
Detroit Tigers – UNDER 3.5 (+100)
The Tigers are the worst-scoring team in the majors. They average just 2.90 runs per game. Over their last three, they have scored 3.67. The Tigers have hit this prop in six of their last ten games.
Today, the Tigers will face Arizona pitcher Zach Davies who is 2-4 with a 3.96 ERA. He’s been rocked in his last two starts for 11 earned runs, but he faced Boston and the Chicago White Sox who have been hitting the ball well as of late.
Detroit is neither of those teams. Plus, Davies has pitched a couple of good games against quality opponents. Those include a 3-1 game against the Dodgers and a 4-1 game against the Padres. He’ll tame the Tigers today.
Minnesota Twins – OVER 5.5 (+110)
The price and the starting pitcher is right here for the Twins to go Over 5.5. Minnesota has played in two consecutive 1-0 games, but Antonio Senzatela starts for the Rockies and that will be the big difference tonight.
Senzatela is 3-3 with a 4.42 ERA, which isn’t terrible. However, his 6.06 xERA shows that he’s actually worse than that. He does rank in the bottom 10 percent of pitchers in a number of categories including strikeout rate, xBA, and xwOBA.
The Twins average 4.39 runs per game and they have only gone over 5.5 twice in their last 10 games. The total has gone Over in nine of the Twins last 13 home games. Their team total today will go Over.
